Massive Pa Gathering Documented in Wasteland [Trailer]

Every year in the Mojave desert hundreds of post-apocalypse and Road Warrior enthusiasts gather and pretend the end of the world has arrived. Called Wastelander Weekend, the event is only growing in popularity since the release of Fury Road.
Mel Films has dropped a trailer for their new documentary on the event and the people involved. I don't know when the entire film will see release or how you can find it yet, but it looks to provide an interesting insight into the imagination and artistry that people bring to the event.

Russia Goes Superhero with Guardians [Trailer]

I was talking recently with Nikolai Pigarev, director of Russia's first zombie movie, Winter of the Dead, and he was telling me to expect Russia to double down on big superhero movies in the coming years.
I wasn't surprised to hear it. Russia's commercial film industry is ramping up and a new generation of directors is looking to break away from the old guard -- but, boy, this came out fast!
Synopsis:
During the Cold War, a secret organization named “Patriot” gathered a group of Soviet superheroes, altering and augmenting the DNA of four individuals, in order to defend the homeland from supernatural threats. Full Trailer for Dystopian Drama Equals

With the science fiction drama Equals playing at Tribeca, I'm not surprised to see a new trailer see release for the film. Us distributor A24 will release the Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult drama on July 15.
Equals appears to sit somewhere between Huxley's "Brave New World" and Equilibrium and with a script penned by Moon scribe Nathan Parker, I think we're in for something different and special.
Synopsis:
A futuristic love story set in a world where emotions have been eradicated.
The full trailer offers up a stylish future which we had already seen in the stills, and a largely wordless suggestion of the story. It's not much but this is shaping into a really promising package.
