Bombay High Court refuses to stay the release of Santa Banta Pvt Ltd

After the trailer of the Vir Das-Boman Irani starrer film Santa Banta Pvt Ltd. , went viral, Charan Singh Sapra (Congress Mlc from Mulund) and his supporters felt that the dialogues were indecent and filthy and the script of the film was offensive and that it showed the Sikh community in very poor light. His lawyer B.A. Desai also showed the film's posters to the bench allegedly claiming indecency by the film's actors. He also urged the Censor Board to withdraw its certificate issued to the producers to screen the film. Besides stating that the film's dialogues went against the Constitution's spirit, he also added that the jokes on 'sardarji' were intended to defame them (the community). He also stated that the film's release would lead to public disorder and also could possibly also lead to a law and order situation. Lastly, he requested for an interim relief to stall the film's release. »

Rohit Shetty acquires the negative rights of Golmaal

Rohit Shetty, whose last directorial venture Dilwale proved to be a damp squib at the box-office has apparently moved on. In fact we hear that the filmmaker is gearing up for his next which will be the fourth instalment in the hit Golmaal franchise. In fact Shetty has already purchased the negative rights of Golmaal from the film's original producers and is looking at commencing work on the film soon.

Though details and an official confirmation are still pending, we also hear that Rohit Shetty is keen on featuring the original cast of the film which includes Ajay Devgn. If all goes as per plan, then the film may roll this year with the original cast of the Golmaal series. »

Kangna Ranaut in talks for Rajkumar Hiranis film

Ashwini Iyer Tiwari replaces Sameer Sharma as the director of Manmarziyan

Last year, Bollywood Hungama had reported that Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar will be seen in a love story titled Manmarziyan, that's being directed by Sameer Sharma and produced by Aanand L. Rai. The latest update of the film is that producer Aanand L. Rai has replaced the director of the film Sameer Sharma and the film will now be directed by Ashwini Iyer Tiwari. The reason cited (as per the reports) for the replacement of Sameer Sharma is said to be 'creative differences' with Rai. Police is not visiting Kangna Ranaut - Lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui

The ongoing legal battle between Hrithik Roshan and Kangna Ranaut over defamation notices that were slapped at each other, also had the Cyber Crime cell involved who had allegedly summoned the actress over an Fir filed by Roshan. With rumours stating that the authorities of cyber-crime will meet Kangna today doing the rounds, her lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui has now officially released a statement. The said statement has Rizwan claiming that Hrithik Roshan's publicity team has been spreading false rumours about his client. "I have been receiving calls from media persons since last 2 hours. Salman Khans fight for the real Sarabjit is not included in Omung Kumars film

The actor in his generous nature had also requested the fans and general public to sign a petition way back in 2012, in support of Dalbir Kaur who was then fighting for the release of her brother Sarabjit Singh from Pakistan prison. Kumar Mangat acquires distribution rights of Rustom for Rs 40 cr

It's not new to hear about distributors shelling out astronomical amounts to acquire the distribution rights of films featuring big stars. And now we hear that Kumar Mangat has apparently purchased the all India distribution rights of Rustom for Rs. 40 cr. As for the film, Rustom that stars Akshay Kumar playing the role of the India Naval officer Rustom Pavri is apparently based on the K M Nanavati case which had created headlines decades back. Shahid Kapoor confirms hes going to be a father

Vivek Oberoi to remake Iranian film The Color of Paradise

While we have earlier reported about Vivek Oberoi venturing into production, the actor has already decided on the line-up of films he will be working on. One amongst them is the renowned Iranian film by Majid Majidi, The Color of Paradise. After recently announcing about a gangster drama Rai to be directed by Ram Gopal Varma, Vivek Oberoi aims at telling the touching tale of a blind boy and his father. Vivek has bought the rights of The Color of Paradise and he will also be co-scripting the film. From what we hear, the Indian version of this film will be based in North India to suit our needs and the casting is underway. Besides that, Vivek is also looking for a talented director who can helm this emotional story of an eight year old blind boy, Mohammad who is shunned by his widowed father Hashem owing to his handicap. »

Randeep Hooda collapses while shooting for Sultan

Randeep Hooda is certainly doing a dozen things these days. The actor who was recently roped in as the face for the Mumbai Fire Department has been shooting literally nonstop for his projects. However, this hectic schedule seems to have taken a toll on the actor's health. In fact we hear that Hooda collapsed on the sets of Sultan yesterday evening in Delhi following a severe attack of appendicitis. Apparently, Randeep Hooda had been in acute pain for some time, but ignored it to complete the shoot on time where he plays Salman Khan's wrestling coach in Ali Abbas Zafar's upcoming Sultan. Currently, Randeep has been admitted to Fortis Hospital, where he may undergo surgery later today. On the film front, Randeep Hooda will next be seen in the films Laal Rang, Sarbjit, Cabaret and the Salman Khan starrer Sultan. »

Shahid Kapoor wraps up Rangoons shoot

Amidst all this, Shahid has also wrapped up the shoot of his much talked about and much awaited period film Rangoon. Ram Gopal Varma leaves Hyderabad is back in Mumbai

Ram Gopal Varma has left Hyderabad which was his home for the last four years. He has now returned to Mumbai, "for good", say sources. In fact Ramu has built a brand new state-of-the-art office for himself in one of Mumbai's most centrally located business areas. The office boasts of some of the most advanced interior equipment and reportedly cost Rs 15 crores to decorate. Ram Gopal Varma has named his new office 'Company'. He earlier owned an office named 'Factory.' Ramu returns to Mumbai after completing 6 Telugu films since 2013. Says a source close to the director, "Ramu kept away from Mumbai to avoid all the flak he was getting for making repetitive films. He spent 4 years re-charging his batteries in Hyderabad. Now he is back in Mumbai. He has already completed the entire shooting of a Hindi film Veerappan starring Lisa Ray. He plans to make a sequel to Company. »

Sunny Deol teams up with SS Rajamouli for Mera Bharat Mahan

Sunny Deol, whose last release Ghayal Once Again did average business at the box office, has moved on to his next. In fact the actor has roped in the Bahubali director, SS Rajamouli to helm his next venture titled Mera Bharat Mahan.

Sunny, who has always been associated with films that feature an underlying patriotic theme, has not only roped in Rajamouli, but has in fact also managed to get his father Dharmendra, writer-director and Kv Vijayendra Prasad for his next venture. Titled Mera Bharat Mahaan, the patriotic-themed movie will be scripted and helmed by Prasad, who also wrote last year's hits Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Bahubali: The Beginning.

Though it is unclear whether Rajamouli will direct the film, he will be the creative director of the project. With this it seems like Sunny Deol is all set to capture the big screen once again with the film scheduled to go on floors in June. »

Dar Motion Pictures signs Huma Qureshi for Gulaab Jaamun

The production house Dar Motion Pictures, whose last venture was the 2014 release Ugly that faded away at the box office without a mention, is set on making a comeback of sorts to production with a film titled Gulaab Jaamun. If what we hear is true then, Dar has apparently signed on newcomer Sarvesh Mewara, a graduate fresh out of Subhash Ghai's Whistling Woods International to helm the project. In fact Mewara who has earlier directed a few short films developed the script of the film that is a coming-of-age love story with a twist. Once done with the script, Mewara even approached Huma Qureshi. While after hearing the script, Huma agreed to feature in the film, the makers are currently looking for a leading man. Produced under the banner of Dar Motion Pictures, Gulaab Jaamun is expected to commence shooting by the end of June. »
