Lange & Sarandon To Play Crawford & Davis

Not content with just FX's award-winning "American Horror Story" and this year's highly acclaimed "American Crime Story," producer Ryan Murphy is setting up a third anthology series at the network entitled "Feud".

Scoring a straight-to-series eight-episode order, each season of the anthology will center around a different epic battle between two major personalities. For this first season he's picked a juicy one - the legendary backstage battle between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis and how the rivalry came to a crescendo with the making of 1962's "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?".

Murphy has enlisted Jessica Lange to play Crawford and Susan Sarandon to play Davis in the series which also stars Alfred Molina as director Robert Aldrich, Stanley Tucci as studio mogul Jack Warner, Judy Davis as gossip columnist Hedda Hopper, and Dominic Burgess as 'Jane' co-star Victor Buono.

McKay Helms Superhero Tale "Irredeemable"

After talking about the idea for a while, and having co-written one with "Ant-Man," acclaimed "The Big Short" and "Anchorman" helmer Adam McKay has finally set his sights on directing a superhero film - just not one you might expect.

McKay is set to helm an edgy film adaptation of Boom! Comics' "Irredeemable" from a script by "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters" director Tommy Wirkola. Mark Waid's limited edition comic follows Plutonian, the world's greatest superhero until he began heartlessly slaughtering those who defy him.

It falls to a superhero group of his former colleagues, now known as the Paradigm, to stop this mass-murdering maniac's rampage despite them not even being close to Plutonian in terms of power. Their only hope lies in an imprisoned famous supervillain.

McKay, Kevin Messick, Ross Richie and Stephen Christy are producing the film for 20th Century Fox.

"Deadpool" Blu-ray Promo Spoofs Viagra Ads

20th Century Fox tried to continue its marketing campaign for "Deadpool" for a while after the film opened, but you can have too much of a good thing as so they quickly pulled it back.

With the film now about to get its home video release next Tuesday though, there's another opportunity for them to have fun with it and so today they've released a new promo for that release. In classic "Deadpool" style though, there's a comical twist - the entire promo is done in the style of an ad for erectile dysfunction medication.

Broderick plays a man who returns to his hometown of Paris, Missouri to care for his aging mother (MacLaine). John Hoffman ("Looking," "Grace and Frankie") is penning this adaptation of journalist George Hodgman's best-selling memoir and will serve as executive producer and showrunner. Hodgman, Anne Carey and Amy Nauiokas will also executive produce with filming to take place in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

First Look At New "Power Rangers" Uniforms

Still very much in production, we won't be seeing a first trailer for the reboot of the "Power Rangers" franchise for a few months yet. That hasn't stopped Lionsgate from today's reveal to EW of the new armored outfits of the group - their new threads are spandex-free and described as "translucent extraterrestrial armor that crystallizes around their bodies".

Talking about the look, production designer Andrew Menzies says: "It's tricky finding a new language for a superhero costume. Ours is an alien costume that grows on them, that's not man-made. You can't win everyone over, but we are trying to appeal to a more mature audience and gain new fans." The film itself hits cinemas on March 24th 2017. »

With 217 names announced the other week, you would think that pretty much every surviving member of the cast of "Twin Peaks" is returning for the David Lynch-directed upcoming revival of the series at Showtime. Certainly a bunch of familiar names are all set to return.

But what about the absentees? EW sought out several major cast members who weren't on the list to return to see if they would be coming back. Piper Laurie, who played plotting mill owner Catherine Martell, responded with the following quote:

"I made it very clear to David and the team that I would be delighted to come back. I had a fantastic time on the original and won lots of awards. I'm surprised and I have no idea why I haven't been called back. I did send a note to David that I would be delighted to return, but I think most of »

Directors Drop Out Of "Death Wish" Remake

"Big Bad Wolves" directors Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado have dropped out of the upcoming remake of the 1974 Charles Bronson revenge classic "Death Wish" currently in the works at MGM and Paramount.

The pair have left over a matter of creative differences. According to Deadline, they wanted to make over the film with their signature stylized action and sense of humor along with doing a spiritually closer adaptation of the original Brian Garfield novel rather than a direct remake of the previous Michael Winner-directed film.

That upset the studio which had a script that star Bruce Willis signed off on, a start of production date and a projected release date all set. Their departure is said to be more amicable than when Carnahan dropped out of directing.

Roger Birnbaum is producing the film which boasts a script by Joe Carnahan, Dan Gilroy and Graham Yost. »
