"We can't say who is going to be in it, but we can say that there certainly could be one, or two, maybe three. We can confirm that you should stay sat in your seats when the movie is done." Could it be teases for 'Doctor Strange,' 'Black Panther' and 'Infinity War'?

"Civil War" Helmers On Spider-Man Design

Without question, the most talked about aspect of the recent "Captain America: Civil War" trailer was the reveal of Tom Holland in the new Spider-Man costume. Speaking with Forbes, the film's director Joe Russo indicated the first look reveal in the film's full trailer was always the plan:

"We always intended to (reveal him that way). We thought it was a great way to reveal him. I think people are going to be happy with him in the movie, he's got a very interesting role in it. Part of the fun of Spider-Man is that this film is basically a war amongst the Avengers and Spidey does not have the baggage that all these other characters have. He enters the story after the conflict that is happening between the Avengers and that gives him a very unique place in the story."

The costume was a point of contention, though not »

Panned "Allegiant" Targets $30-40M Debut

"Allegiant," the third film in the "Divergent" young adult franchise, opened last night to $2.4 million at Thursday night previews.

That's considerably down from the strong $4.1 million that its predecessor "Insurgent" scored last year - a film that went on to earn $52.3 million in its opening weekend. "Allegiant" is currently tracking to earn $30 to $40 million in its debut in the United States.

Critics have been utterly savage in their reviews of "Allegiant". On Metacritic, the first film scored a 48/100, the second slipped to 42/100 and now the third has fallen to just 34/100. On Rotten Tomatoes it has fared even worse - the first film's 40% dropped to 29% for the sequel and now has plunged to just 10% for the third film.

The series still has one more entry to go with "Ascendant" which is slated to open next year.

Holcroft Returns For "Kingsman" Sequel

Despite his character appearing to meet his demise in the first film, Edward Holcroft looks to be reprising his role of Eggsy's chisel-jawed main rival Charlie Hesketh in the upcoming sequel to "Kingsman: The Secret Service" at 20th Century Fox.

Taron Egerton is returning to his star-making role as Gary 'Eggsy' Unwin, a now fully-trained secret agent who will be spending much of the follow-up in the United States. Colin Firth is not expected to return in either a flashback or as a new character.

Holcroft is back, but whether his character is as well remains to be seen. Halle Berry is onboard as the head of the CIA for a role that is expected to continue on in a third film should it happen. Julianne Moore in talks to play the villain.

Matthew Vaughn is returning to direct, the first sequel he's ever personally directed. The film is currently targeting a June 16th 2017 release. »

It will be a familiar job for Koepp who penned the previous film, "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," along with numerous other Spielberg films including "Jurassic Park," "The Lost World," and "War of the Worlds".

Harrison Ford is set to return to the role of Dr. Jones once he wraps work reprising his role of Rick Deckard in Ridley Scott's "Blade Runner" follow-up. "Indiana Jones 5" is currently slated for a July 19th 2019 release.

All-Male "Ghostbusters" Film Confirmed Dead

Last year came word that Sony Pictures was getting ready to milk the "Ghostbusters" franchise for all its worth with not only the Paul Feig-directed, female-centric reboot of the property already filming but also a Channing Tatum-led male-centric one in development at the studio.

That project had Joe and Anthony Russo, the "Captain America: Winter Soldier" directors, attached. However, with their commitments to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, many were wondering how they would get the time to direct. Talk of that male-centric "Ghostbusters" spin-off has since died down, and Joe Russo tells Forbes that they're no longer involved:

"There is no status with that for us. There was a period there when Paul Feig was engaging Sony in talks about Ghostbusters and we were also engaging them. He was further along with his process than we were and he closed his deal so that's the only Ghostbusters world »

"Bubbles" Chimp Tale To Be Stop-Motion

Last year's Black List of best unproduced screenplays was easily topped by "Bubbles," Isaac Adamson's script which essentially served as a pseudo-Michael Jackson biopic as seen through the eyes of his famed chimpanzee companion Bubbles.

Many were wondering how in the hell this would get made into a film, now comes word of a rather perfect way of tackling the material as plans are to do it as a stop-motion animated feature in the vein of Charlie Kaufman's "Anomalisa".

Dan Harmon, the "Rick and Morty" and "Community" creator, executive produced "Anomalisa" and is set to produce this alongside Andrew Kortschak through their respective production companies.

Bubbles was adopted by Jackson from an Austin, Texas research facility and given residence at the Neverland Ranch in 1983. He was Jackson’s constant companion until he became overaggressive and was moved to a monkey sanctuary in Florida.

"Frozen 2" Recordings Begin Next Month

Disney had its biggest hit in years on its hands with "Frozen," the magical tale grossing over $1 billion worldwide and becoming a cultural touchstone that surprised everyone involved with the sheer level of its success.

Though there's been shorts, TV specials and rides based on the property, the full sequel to the film - confirmed a full year ago, hasn't seemingly made much progress in that time. Now, the first film's star Kristen Bell (Anna) has revealed to Collider that she starts recording dialogue for the film later this month:

"They've just written it and they're still doing tweaks, but I think we should be recording this month. The story is great, and they exude quality. What I know about that whole team is that they wouldn't just put something out to put it out. That's why it took them so long to even announce that we were doing a second one. »

Marvel One-Shots To Return Online?

Seemingly abandoned following the "Iron Man 3" one, it looks like Marvel's bonus 'One-Shot' short films could be making a comeback in a different form.

Speaking with Forbes, "Captain America: Civil War" directors Joe and Anthony Russo suggested that they're considering bringing the idea back for marketing as part of the "Avengers: Infinity War" saga:

"We have gone through a little bit of a transition with that content, We can't go into too many details about this but we are thinking, very specifically, about to do new ways of what you are talking about with Avengers: Infinity War. We're just in the beginning phases of figuring them out. Yes, DVDs are gone but there is this wonderful internet platform out there called YouTube."

The pair also suggest that trailers for the films could be more elaborate than other Marvel trailers - boasting footage especially shot for them along with all sorts of other viral content. »

Snyder On That R-Rated "Batman v Superman"

In the wake of the success of "Deadpool," Warner Bros. Pictures made the announcement that an R-rated cut of Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice" would be making its way to the Blu-ray and DVD edition of the film.

The timing was unfortunate, mostly because it seemed almost like a kneejerk reaction from the studio to the huge success of the R-rated "Deadpool," rather than what was simply a longer and darker cut of the film - something that Snyder has done with several of his films to date such as "Watchmen" and "Dawn of the Dead".

In a new feature piece for THR, his wife and producing partner Deborah Snyder dismisses those notions, saying: "Online, everyone's like, 'Oh, they're doing an R-rated in reaction to Deadpool,' and you're like (laughing), 'We didn't just shoot it last week, and we also didn't edit it last week'. »
