Sales Planner

TheWrap is seeking an ambitious, full time Sales Planner to join the advertising department.   TheWrap is located in West Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sales, excellent communication skills, a client-focused mentality, strong work ethic, and an ability to balance a large number of tasks in a fast paced environment. As TheWrap is a less than 50 employee company, this candidate must be flexible and willing to wear many hats and perform non-job specific tasks

SUMMARY

TheWrap is seeking a Sales Planner to join a dynamic team at Los Angeles office. WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Support your assigned Sales team in executing and facilitating Pre-Sale & Post-Sale functions, including:
    • Manage the RFP process, from proposal generation to order entry
    • Work cross-divisionally to help fulfill client requests
    • Assist in the preparation and follow-up for client meetings
    • Review trades daily and gather industry and account-specific information to help drive revenue growth
    • Set up kick-off calls/e-mails in preparation for new campaigns
    • Execute budget revisions, including incremental spends and cancellations
    • Provide Ad Operations with guidance and confirmation for optimization requests
    • Work with the Finance team to assist with the billing process

WHAT TO BRING

  • 1- 2 years’ experience in media – must have RFP building experience
  • A strong desire to work in sales and a team environment
  • Strong experience working with Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Proactive and engaging, with a positive approach towards problem-solving
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail.

Writer, DC/Metro Area

The Wrap is looking for a strong, fast writer to monitor news and pitch items immediately for rapid publication, as well as handle standing assignments anticipated in advance. Ideal candidates can pivot from plain-English explanations of FCC proceedings to snarky takes of celebrity testimony to a Congressional committee.

Primary responsibilities include covering:
–the FCC and other regulators relevant to the entertainment industry
–the White House Correspondents Dinner
–Noteworthy celebrity appearances in Washington, such as Medal of Honor recipients, fundraising or state dinner attendees, or stars going before Congress to testify
–Supreme Court cases that may impact Hollywood

Ad Operations, TheWrap

TheWrap are seeking a detail oriented, versatile and fun individual to serve within the AdOps/Sales department at TheWrap. The primary function of this role will be to manage all digital advertising campaigns.

Responsibilities:

  • Screen and test submitted rich media creative to ensure compliance with site and technical specifications.
  • Assess/verify targeting and technical integration needs prior to flight. Integrate campaign tracking components.
  • QA ad functionality for site redesigns, migrations, and new products on desktop and mobile platforms. Report and track issues and follow through to resolution. Work creatively with development team to find innovative solutions.
  • Prepare RFP’s and enter insertion orders
  • Manage digital inventory and provide avails
  • Upload, target and monitor online ad campaigns
  • Provide screenshots and support to clients for live campaigns
  • Provide delivery reporting for campaigns
  • Work closely with our accountant to generate invoices
  • Work closely with IT to develop new ad units/controls
  • Work closely with the Sales team to create and execute orders

Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of web architecture and online advertising processes
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years ad ops experience
  • Experience with DFP
  • Experience with HTML, JavaScript, 3rd party ad tags, Flash and rich media is a plus
  • Ability to multi task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work after hours and on weekends when required
  • Strong communication skills and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational and analytic skills
  • Able to multitask in a deadline driven environment

Information Technology Manager

Oversees the management of the company’s outsourced IT systems provider

Human Resources:
Provides direction related to strategic and key tactical decisions related to this functional area. Key liaison in PEO relationship with outsourced human resource services provider

Facilities Management:
Take lead responsibility for managing the Wrap’s office facilities, including physical plant and telecommunications.

Experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or related field;
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with a diverse set of skills;
  • Progressive track record of increasing management responsibilities within prior organizations;
  • Strong accounting and finance experience;
  • Systems knowledge and experience including how to harness financial and operational data within an organization;
  • Past experience in a start-up environment or capital markets preferred;
  • Must have excellent organizational skills as well as effective written and verbal communication skills;
  • Be knowledgeable in regards to QuickBooks Pro and Paychex payroll systems;
  • Excellent business acumen and analytical approaches to modeling and solving problems.

Paid Summer Editorial Interns

The Wrap is looking for interns for the summer semester to work in our fast-paced newsroom. This is a paid, full-time position. You will work with TheWrap staff in tracking what films and TV shows are in development, writing up stories, building photo galleries, and much more.

Ideal candidates should have strong writing skills and a background in journalism, communications, or a related field. Similarly, you must have a positive, ”no job is too small” attitude. Please submit a resume, cover letter, and 2-3 writing samples. If you do not currently have any samples, pick 2-3 recent entertainment news items and write up a 250-500 word piece for each of them.
