IMDb is looking for a Senior techical leader for our iOS and Android teams. IMDb is the world’s most popular and authoritative source for movie, TV and celebrity content with over 115 million app downloads. As Head of Mobile Development for IMDb, you will own the software foundations which power our hugely popular apps used by millions of customers every month. The software you will be responsible for allows engineers to interface with IMDb's infrastructure in order to build beautiful apps fast, easily, and at scale. You will lead the vision of customers moving to mobile, driving innovation in a continually evolving space.
As the mobile leader, you will partner with business and other technical leaders across the company in initiating, prioritizing, owning and driving the vision, strategy, product roadmap and technical deliverables to ensure that application engineers can stay focused on providing excellent experiences for our customers and other engineers.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
- Managing and leading a highly performing development team
- Defining and driving long term product strategy
- Overseeing the architecture and delivery of IMDb's next-generation platform for mobile apps.
- Fully managing the development lifecycle and delivering the product roadmap within an Agile/Scrum environment
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in math, computer science, engineering or equivalent work experience desired. MFA and a really good story would work as well
5+ years’ experience planning, designing, developing and shipping quality software, including highly scalable systems and experience with service-oriented architecture
2+ years experience building iOS or Android apps
3+ years’ experience managing a team in a software development organization that delivered commercial software or software-based services
Expertise in Java, Swing, or Objective-C
Proven leadership skills and teamwork skills. You have experience guiding and mentoring software development engineers
Proven ability to work and deliver effectively in a customer-focused, cross-functional team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong user-focused technical collaborator
Hands-on expertise with disparate technologies for building native and hybrid apps
Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
A proud history of delivering significant results in both Desktop and Mobile spaces
Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and experience managing multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced Agile environment
