Warners Unconcerned By "Dawn" Box-Office Drop

Last week a quote from a studio representative about the opening weekend box-office for Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" lit a match to the debate over the film's reviews and the relevance of critics.

This weekend, Warner Bros. domestic distribution chief Jeff Goldstein has offered a quote to THR responding to a question about the film's steep drop in its second weekend in various markets. He says the studio is presently unflustered:

"We're not concerned with the drop. No matter how you slice it, to get to $52 million on any given weekend is an enormous accomplishment. We're most focused on where we are in total. And our global number is huge."

'Dawn of Justice' grossed a further $52 million domestically and $85 million in international markets this weekend - domestically that's a 68% drop despite no real competition. Even so, the film already stands at a »

Marvel "Spider-Man" Reboot Possible Title Leak?

Have Marvel and Sony settled on a title for their upcoming reboot of the "Spider-Man" franchise?

Empire Online have spotted that the studio recently registered the URL SpiderManHomecomingTheMovie.com which would suggest the film may follow the "Spider-Man: Homecoming" 1980s comic arc which boasts appearances from both Captain America and Tony Stark.

Those involved have previously indicated the new film owes a debt to the classic John Hughes films of the 1980s so this gels, but right now there's no guarantee of anything on the title front. Studios do register domain names that they don't ultimately use.

Tom Holland stars as the new Spider-Man who makes his debut in "Captain America: Civil War" in a few weeks. »

The comics of course had a famous victim who remains the most likely to die, but right now even those involved in the show don't know. Chandler Riggs, who plays Carl, said in a tweet following the finale: "if it makes you feel any better i still don't know »

There's also a new poster featuring another of the horsemen - British actor Ben Hardy as Angel. The film is currently slated to open May 27th.
