Pannasonic ZS100... newest trend in cameras ?

We know all cam sales are down, especially DSLRs .  Those pesky cell phone cams are taking over for  most regular ppl.   But photographers still want more.....so it seems to me that a compact cam such as the new Panny ZS100 is pretty much the best step up from a cell phone, but so much handier than a large cam.

I don't own a Panny, but it does look like they may be very close to leading the trend these days.
