Nothing unheard of here, just a normal lens, same as those built for the last 100 years. f/1.8 - a standard aperture, the usual CA, nothing new to be excited for...

It's called photography, if there isn't enough "fos" you can not "graph". Read the article on photon shot noise. It's curable only with a faster glass, not by ISO increase which will make matters...

Sorry, I mistook the D3 for the D3s. Yes, the D5 should be around 2.5 stops better than the D3, and 60-70% better than the D3s.
-
Cause the D3 has a poor jpeg engine, try raw and the difference will diminish...

Well nobody's gonna shoot sports under the light of the Milky Way, at least for now... However note something, it's the lens that creates more/less noise when light gets sparse. ISO 3200 + f/1.4...

If you try that stupid ISO values above 100K in a difficult light, the result is going to be more or less random noise. However, pretty impressive in the ISO12800 - 51200 range.

ISO 100,000 is the roof for anything usable. It's enough!
-
Don't get me wrong, If I had the money to spare I'd buy one, but I'd still feel I would be getting 95% of everything it offers out of a D4s for half the price. Benefit/price ratio does matter!
-
Clearly it's optimized for anything above ISO 3200. By any standards this isn't a portrait, neither a landscape camera. It's made strictly for photojournalism and sports and nothing else. For...

So is everything above 400K...
-
Yep, ISO 400K - random noise, ISO 800K - random noise, ISO 1.6M - random noise, and so on... :)

Nikon, why the embarrassment with these nonsensical 3Mil ISOs? Everything looks equal to the D4s up to 400K in RAW where the boost should have been terminated. Having this "new tech" in mind, I...

Great lens, reminds me of my Cosina 20, which I use on my 5D2 with a PB/Canon adapter and has a macro function. Btw, ultra wide macro and a good bokeh is sometimes quintessential for some types of...

Excellent continuation of the 30mm lineage. I have the old version EX and it is extraordinarily sharp (I have a great copy) and you can get rid of those CA easily in post. I shoot it mostly on...

Numbers are everything, you go any slower than this and the wide angle FF feeling is gone. You frame it too wide (24mm) and distorsion creeps in, you go past 50mm FF or 35mm APS-C and the wide...

Like, like, like! Wide angle fast lenses are excellent for portraiture and I agree with every point he made! In this photoshoot he uses 24mm and up, but for me any lens which is very fast and over...

Dude, f/1.8 on a 1'' sensor gives an equivalent depth of field of f/3.5 on APS-C. APS-C is 2.5X better than 1'' in low light, so that too is equivalent. The thing is you cannot change lenses on a...

Well, for $350 you can get yourself a 24MP DSLR (D3300) and for $500 a mirrorless like the A6000, not the right comparison, but is it essential that you buy a high end compact for $750?? Add $500...

It's a good little camera, a little short of very good, but the competition is going give it a hard run for the money, since something like Sony A6000 is amazing, same size, better quality, larger...

Rishi, the A7RII is a great camera, maybe the best camera money can buy today! And it shines in every possible way or should I say - light! But, other cameras can still produce excellent output...
