Months after we first reported that CBS is developing a new MacGyver TV series with Furious 7 director James Wan, the network has finally found their leading man. Deadline reports that X-Men: Apocalypse star Lucas Till has signed on to play the title character Angus McGyver, with Joshua Boone (Fan Girl) also joining the cast. The project will be a modern-day re-imagining of the original 1985 TV series, featuring a much younger protagonist.
The plot will follow a "twentysomething" Angus MacGyver, who is recruited into the clandestine organization from the original series, known as the Department of External Services (Dxs). The title character uses his unique skill set for solving problems with bizarre and unconventional methods, to help prevent disasters before they happen.
