What would a feminist do? Taking back your abortion story – podcast
Guardian columnist Jessica Valenti talks to Ilyse Hogue about the state of abortion access in the US, and Renee Bracey Sherman shares her abortion story
This week, Jessica Valenti addresses Kim Kardashian’s nude selfies, abortion access in the US and how women should be allowed to talk about their abortions.
She’s joined by Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, to discuss the state of abortion access in the US. Hogue explains what’s at stake in the Whole Woman’s Health v Hellerstedt Supreme Court case, and she details some of the strategies anti-abortion activists are using in states around the country to limit access to abortion.
Reproductive justice activist Renee Bracey Sherman also joins to share how abortion storytelling can remove the stigma. Bracey Sherman shares her own abortion story and offers tips for those who may want to share their abortion experiences, either with people they know or publicly.
