I am not against this lens. My question was simple. what would you or another one do, if presented with two samples. Would you pick the lubricant one on purpose? Unless I don't know whether the ...

@havoc. The Sony is certainly a step up from previous mirrorless. But I think a comparison to a 7D is not useful, unless we want to confirm that it is still not there in _some_aspects, mentioned...

If you were presented with two 2000$ lenses, one showing the lubricant, the other not, which would you choose? As he says: "Does this mean the lens is problem free? Absolutely not. I don’t know if ...

ISO 12800 is the highest we use at weddings (church with 70-200/2.8), if there is no other option. With good noise reduction it is very usable, or if possible converted to b&w.
-
It doesn't suck, imo. It just depends what you use it for. We use it for weddings wide open mostly. Beautiful rendering and sharpness, very quick focus, prefer it to the Sigma Art 35, which we use ...

Of course, but I find it less disturbing, since it "looks" smoothed imo (the term low-pass filter was not correct though, unless applied in post, since it doesn't change the number of photons ...

As Jim Kasson said above. Additionally, did you account for lack of AA filter in the D5 compared to the D750? This acts as an additional low-pass filter for noise.

The image considers the 24-70/2.8 zoom lenses. Not primes, or am I looking at an other article? Equivalent lenses (with a similar design goal in mind) will have about the same size and weight. ...

I absolutely agree to the possibility to complement FF with m43. I especially liked the 60mm/2.8 macro with the Em1.

@EMadn13: Clean ISO100k? Depends on your definition of clean and the respective output size you want to compare. For me personally, ISO 100k is not suitable, other than for web resolution images....

I am not so sure if the sharpness is weaker, as at least my Batis is extremely sharp wide open already and the images of the 85/1.4 seem to be similar in sharpness only from around f2 to f2.8, at ...

In my opinion it is interesting to compare the D5 to D750 and D810 to get an idea of what to expect at low ISOs, since I believe most people here have one of those cameras, but much less own or ...
-
If you use equivalence, i.e. same FOV, DOF, etc., of course. However, if the scene allows you to use the same aperture (easily possible with a 35 or 50/1.4, you can't overcome the deficit in having...

I have the A7rii and A7ii. When comparing to the A7sii I found the downsized A7rii to be as good until ISO 25600, which is my emergency high-ISO. Measurements (DXO) are in line with this. So unless...

Something like this? http://nikonrumors.com/2015/12/16/list-of-all-nikon-dslr-cameras-and-their-sensor-manufacturerdesigner.aspx/

In what respect? Autofocus? High iso? Or do you mean DR at low ISOs?
-
Wait and see for the reviews. Physics ensures that we can't have a big improvement in size and weight. You know that, right?
-
Thats absolutely fine with me. However, one's 1 stop is another one's 1/2 stop, by visual inspection.

I have not seen enough to warrant that conclusion. I liked the Otus look and the colors that I have seen so far, don't find them sterile. It will be interesting to see side by side comparisons. ...
