We test the AF tracking capabilities, using face detection, of the Sony a7R II vs the Canon 5DS R and Nikon D810 for a subject exhibiting erratic movement. While the a7R II is able to maintain focus on the subject for much of the video, with very little hunting (save for when there's fast subject movement), the DSLRs cannot compete, as they lack on-sensor phase detection.
