Santander Bank Hires Two from JPMorgan

Santander Bank in Boston said Wednesday that it has hired two regional market presidents who formerly worked for JPMorgan Chase.

Elsie Leon-Cruz will lead the $90 billion-asset bank’s metro New York and northern New Jersey regions as president and Sarah Lindstrom the southern and western New England region. Both were market managers at JPMorgan and joined Santander in February.

Leon-Cruz led business in seven districts for JPMorgan in the Queens and Bronx markets in New York, overseeing $13 billion in assets under management, including deposits and investments, and 84 branch managers. In her new role she oversees sales and services at 150 branches.

Lindstrom led 10 districts and more than 100 branches as market manager for the Los Angeles North region and, before that, as leader for the Midwest in-store market in Chicago and the state of Michigan for JPMorgan. She also led a technology rollout in branches throughout New York, Ohio, Texas, Arizona and Illinois. At Santander she will oversee operations and sales at more than 140 branches.
