Meet the tax and fiscal team

The group of experts who work on tax and fiscal policy areas.

Rob Fontana-Reval
Rob Fontana-Reval is the CBI’s Head of Tax & Fiscal Policy, fronting the CBI on tax issues on behalf of its members, setting the CBI stance on fiscal policy, and lobbying ministers and senior officials ahead of Budgets, Autumn Statements and Spending Reviews. Prior to joining the CBI in June 2014 Rob spent 4 years as an Economic Advisor in HM Treasury, working in a range of posts including fiscal policy, global economy, and constitutional reform. Earlier in his career Rob has worked in HMRC as an economist/analyst in tax policy and in the economy team of a Brussels-based think tank. Rob has a Master’s degree in Economics & Public Policy from the University of Bristol and is a former member of the Government Economic Service.

Rhiannon Jones
Rhiannon is a principal policy adviser in the tax and fiscal policy team within the CBI’s economics directorate. Rhiannon is responsible for corporate and domestic taxation issues. Rhiannon, a Chartered Tax Adviser, joined the CBI in 2013 following a career with KPMG and BDO. Her client work at KPMG focused on the taxation of intellectual property, in particular Patent Box, alongside broader international tax advisory work. In her previous role at BDO she provided compliance and advisory services to mid-cap companies.



Dilip Shah
Dilip joined the CBI in September 2011. He is a principal economist working on tax and fiscal policy within the directorate and is a member of the team developing the CBI's vision for a rebalanced economy. Dilip previously worked as an economic advisor in the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) for 4 years with responsibility for analysis of Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SME).



 

Milda Jardine
Milda is a senior policy adviser in the Tax and Fiscal Policy team within the CBI’s Economics directorate. Milda is responsible for corporate and international taxation issues. Prior to this, Milda worked at Ernst & Young’s Tax Policy team, advising clients on tax policy. She has experience in EU, international and UK taxation. Milda has also completed a secondment in HM Treasury where she was leading on the offshore gambling taxation project.
 



James Nation
James is a principal policy adviser in the Tax and Fiscal Policy team. James leads on the CBI’s submissions to Budgets and Autumn Statements, alongside assisting with CBI policy formulation across a range of areas. He previously led the CBI’s work on further devolution in 2014 and has also covered the digital economy and the creative industries brief. Before joining the organisation in 2012, he took a Masters in Philosophy and Public Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He also holds a BA in History from the University of Oxford.
