Rachel Pether is a television news anchor, CFA Charterholder, AMCT holder, member of Mensa, published author and Treasury professional.
As a qualified investment professional with 7 years of experience at Mubadala Development Company (Mubadala), one of the Middle East’s largest sovereign wealth funds, Rachel has an exceptional understanding of the financial markets and business strategy. While at Mubadala, she managed their inaugural public disclosure of financial data, including the annual report, interim financial statements on a semi-annual basis and Mubadala’s first investor-led results call. Mubadala achieved a perfect 10 in the Linaburg-Maduell Transparency Index in 2009, the first company in the Middle East to achieve such a rating.
In 2014, the ACT named her “The One to Watch” in Treasury. She has been a guest speaker at numerous events for the Association of Corporate Treasurers Middle East (ACTME), including career evenings and the ACTME annual conference 2014.
With countless hours of television footage to her name, she has the proven ability to bring video content and live events to life. In an effort to satiate her passion for healthy living (she was born in New Zealand after all…), Rachel currently hosts What’s Up, a one-hour weekly television show focusing on fitness, healthy living, sports and lifestyle on Physique TV. She has interviewed global sports stars such as Manny Pacquiao and Jelena Jankovic, through to celebrity chefs and members of the Executive Council.
In 2009 Rachel published her first book – Jandal Prints on the Globe – and helped to establish a charity called Espoir so that sale proceeds could go towards supporting entrepreneurship for the youth of New Zealand.
