The council works to:
- Promote the importance and role of the construction sector as an economic engine because of its vast value chain, job-creation capacity, strong regional presence and high economic multiplier
- Help government create an environment where the sector can thrive in the UK
In developing this work in greater detail, the council focuses on a number of key issues impacting on construction. These include:
- Business and government collaboration to increase private sector investment in infrastructure
- Long-term certainty through an industrial strategy for construction to help firms export and plan investment
- Accelerating progress and delivery on major public and private schemes, including procurement reform
- Supporting a vibrant housing market
