“The Secret Service was surrounding everybody, they said nothing happened,” GOP frontrunner claims
Billionaire businessman Donald Trump isn’t buying what Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields is selling.
The ex-“Apprentice” host thinks Fields “made the story up” about getting grabbed and possibly yanked by Trump’s campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski.
“They said absolutely nothing happened,” Trump told CNN’s Dylan Byers last night after the Republican debate. “He didn’t hear about it until, like, the next day. I wasn’t involved in it.”
We presume by “he,” Trump was referring to Lewandowski.

“The Secret Service was surrounding everybody, they said nothing happened,” Trump continued on Thursday. “Everybody said nothing happened.”
“Perhaps she made the story up, I think that’s what happened,” the GOP frontunner concluded of the Tuesday evening accusations.
The brief Byers’ exchange can be viewed at the bottom of this post.

As Fields tells the story, she was attempting to ask the presidential candidate a question about affirmative action when Lewandowski physically grabbed her, hard enough to leave a bruise and almost enough to throw her to the ground.
Here’s part of her first-person take from a Thursday column:
Trump acknowledged the question, but before he could answer I was jolted backwards. Someone had grabbed me tightly by the arm and yanked me down. I almost fell to the ground, but was able to maintain my balance. Nonetheless, I was shaken.
The Washington Post’s Ben Terris immediately remarked that it was Trump’s campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, who aggressively tried to pull me to the ground. I quickly turned around and saw Lewandowski and Trump exiting the building together. No apology. No explanation for why he did this.
