A question to people who have owned A7RII 4+ months

I'm about to switch from micro 4/3 to fullframe. I'm a university student, and this switch will be the biggest financial investment of my life to date, so forgive me if I seem overly cautious. Anyway...

I've had my eye on the A7RII since its announcement, because I'm doing 50/50 photo and video, and this seems to be the best one-camera solution. My main concern is the camera's durability/reliability.

In Ming Thein's original review he was mixed on the camera but said he might grow fonder of it over time. I asked him yesterday what his feelings were on the camera now, six months later, and he replied:

"I sold it. It’s frustratingly slow, unresponsive, and the files aren’t that great even after the firmware update. I’ve had strange errors and my friends with the camera have experienced lockups, file corruption and dead cards. It is not a camera, it’s an electronic gadget. After six months and eight thousand frames with it, I disliked it more and more."

I'm afraid of buying a camera that might lock up during a wedding shoot, or when a 20+ man film crew is ready to go.. So I thought I'd ask those of you who have used the camera for a while, what has your experience been like? How frequent/serious problems have you had, if any?

Kind regards,

Philip
