One plus One by JoJo Moyers is in my opinion a very easy read or in my case easy listening. In this book I defiantly liked having .all the different narrators. I think it was the right decision on their part to have someone with a child's voice doing the part of the little girl Tansy and adults doing the adult parts. It took just a couple of minutes to get use to the British accents and I think they all did well.
Ed a wealthy nerd that has gotten into some trouble for unintentional insider trading .He is told to get out of town for a while by his lawyer and he ends up taking a road trip with Jess a single mother, her teenage step son, her 10 year old math wiz daughter Tansy and their great big slobbering dog. They need to get to Scotland for a math competition cause it looks like that is the only way Tansy will ever get into a school that is suited for her high intelligence. Jess seems to be stuck in Murphy's law cause if something can go wrong for her or her kids it does but Jess has such a good attitude about things working out.
JoJo Moyers has a very special talent to write about quirky people The story may be a little predictable but I ended up liking the characters so much that I just wanted the best for them. It is a very nice romantic story about people being right for each other. I am pretty sure that at some point I will listen or read this book again

I have to confess that I am an Outlander addict. I love all the books in the series and I do believe Davina Porter is one of the best narrators I have heard. I have been counting the days for Diana Gabaldons next book so "The Space Between: An Outlander Novella" has been the perfect little taste before the next book. This audio book is only just over 4 hours long so it is a little pricey if you compare that to the 40+ hours of the other Outlander series books.This novella is just a fast little story about Michael Murry (Jamie and Clair's nephew.) Joan (Jamies step-daughter) who is on her way to the convent in France,the Comte St Germain (we all thought he was dead!) and best of all Master Raymond! Hearing Master Raymond was like hearing from an old friend! The story is really short and telling you more then what Amazon says in the description would be a spoiler I think.
For me it was well worth the credit just because it has been so hard waiting for" Written in My Own Hearts Blood" but I have to say if Diana Gabaldon should write more books or novellas about these characters I would most definitely read or listen to them. I sure hope she does cause it would be way to hard to wait for the next book after this one!

I have been a great "Sookie Stackhouse" Fan up until Charlaine Harris's last 2 books in the series. Maybe part of that was because of all the waiting and anticipation but I honestly felt like the author had given up on the books and just wanted to get it over with. The only reason I got Dead but Not Forgotten was because I got it on sale. That being said I very much enjoyed this book. It is always delightful to hear Johanna Parker and it was very nice indeed to hear the stories with writers that seemed to care more about what they had to say. I hope they do more!

I can not tell you how much I enjoyed this book. It is really several stories in one starting with Pasquel a small hotel owner in a very small Italian coastal village to present day Hollywood with Chair a young disillusioned development assistant.
Jess Walter is very good at descriptions and has a real feel for the locations described and life.
I got this book because of an NPR review rated it as the best new novel of the year. I agree
One other thing I think Edoardo Ballerini was fabulous as the narrator

I very much enjoyed Sandra Brown's "Envy". It seems like she has written quite a few books and received many good reviews so I figured I would Give "Fat Tuesday" a try. It is way over dramatized, predictable and the language is weird. I think this book is suppose to be a steamy/thriller mystery but with sentences like "men that are ravenous don't eat neatly" it is far from it. Seriously I can not imagine anyone talking like that. To me the book was so bad that I thought it was kind of funny. I ended up listening to it in 2X the speed and I think it would be better if I could have listened to it in speed 3 or 4. I did finish the book on the other reviewers recommendation but all in all not so good and it's a definite thumbs down from me

A breath of Snow and Ashes is so much better then Fiery Cross. Originally my plan was to listen to this book in installments because 50+ hours is a lot of time to invest in one book. This book grabbed me enough that it was a good listen. I love Davina Porters voice for the most part but I think she could do better with her children's voices in this book. All in all I liked it and I will defiantly listen to this book again.

I read the hard copy of the other Outlander books before the Fiery Cross They were very big books as well but it is so different to listen to a big 55 hour book. Slow starting but it is a really good book and I would not change a thing. I have no idea how accurate the history is in the Outlander series but it is such a fun way to get a feel for the time just before the American revolution. I loved the narration but I think for the next book I will limit my listening to one part at a time and listen to other books in between.

First off I am a huge fan of the other Sookie Stachouse books.I have been waiting for this book to come out for a long time so that may be the source of part of my disappointment. I feel like Charlaine Harris should have spent another year working on "Deadlocked" because it seems like at least 85% of the book is a recap of everything that went on in all the other books. This book is almost like a very short story with all the other books wrapped around it. ..doesn't feel like the author put much thought in it at all. Not much plot, Sookie is not as spunky as she is in the other books and there is not very much action in it all. Most of the favorite characters are out of town for a good deal of the book as well.

I think the saving feature in Deadlocked is the narrator Johanna Parker. She has such a charming voice and she really does a wonderful job at making all the characters different. I think I would like to see how she does at other non-Sookie books.

Shiver is a different kind of werewolf story. In this story young werewolves get to be human during the warmer months of the year and are werewolves for the winter. It is primarily a story of Sam the werewolf and Grace the teenager that was bitten bitten by wolves when she was a very young child but never turned into a wolf. She is very attached to watching the wolves that live near her home....most of all one beautiful wolf with amber eyes...Sam. I do not want to give the story away but Grace and Sam get to know each other when he is forced into his human form during the colder part of the year. I think this is a very well done YA story
One really small thing I really loved in the book is at one point Sam is reciting part of a poem by Rilke. The scene only lasts for a few minutes but I liked Sams reading of the poem so much that I searched on Audible for readings of Rilke but the narrators of Rilke poems on Audible are not as good as David LeDoux.
I enjoyed the brief interview with Maggie Steivater after the book and I wish more authors would share their own thoughts on the books they write.
I believe I will read the other books in this series but I will wait a while before I start book 2

I think one time is enough

I do feel as if many of the ideas in the nice Girl books were borrowed from Charlene Harris's Sookie Stackhouse books. I don't know who is borrowing from who. The
