An RX100 or Nikon DL probably rivals the D200 on some performance metrics. Rather than saddling people with it, why not sell it for $50 and use that towards a bridge camera you can gift them?

Given that the Tamron 15-30 performs appreciably better, the 16-35 is a lens I'd be embarrassed to own. I don't know why Nikon hasn't updated it. Don't they value the concept of "saving face?"
