People who want/need a high DR camera will buy a high DR camera. D5 is not a tool for landscape shooters. Fortunately all manufacturers now have a tool for that (even Canon with D80, but still...

Nah, i moved form FF Nikon to APS-C Pentax for size/weight reasons. And all my lenses of same(equivalent fl) are at least 25% smaller/lighter. Yeah - there are some crop behemoths like 1.8 Sigma...
-
Thing is - you both are trying to say all people need best of the best. And that clearly isnt the case. As i can see a LOT of the great photos made by gear you think is sub par.. You can even check...
-
if anyone has dedication to APS-C it is Pentax, and Fuji... Zeis lenses dont have AF, nor stabilization and people seem to drool at them. Samyang doesnt have same legacy as Zeiss, but they are...

saywhatnow?!? these are all crop only lenses i've mentioned :S or you wanna say there are FF 10mm f2.8 lenses out there?
-
@Kharan: Samyang 10mm f2.8 and Samyang 16mm 2.0, new Tokina 14-20mm f2.0, Pentax 16-85mm f3.5-5.6 WR, new Sigma 50-100mm f1.8, Sigma 50-150mm f2.8 All of named lenses are excellent. Dont go Canon...

When you say there is no good lens for crop - what lenses are you missing?
-
well my real world findings are more or less comparable to dxomark. so it is a good start to go there for a fast comparison. that said - i do have a niche in photography that dxomark doesnt cover...
-
nah.... its the d7100 had banding problems and there are no such issues on d7200, you can even see it on this comparison tool...
-
yeah yeah.. i know, conspiracy theories on the internet and such.. but the truth is, dxomark is a really good comparison tool...
-
that really isnt true. both systems have their strengths and weakness. while canon has better lenses on some focal lengths, nikon has on other... and even then, the difference is really really...
-
because it can't be fixed with an update
-
@atuochrome - or they buy an outsourced sensor :)
-
d7100 always had problems with banding.. one can even see it when shooting cloudless blue sky on a bright day without any shadow boosting. good thing d7200 fixed that entirely
-
Finally! Kudos to Canon! After a looong while they have a good crop camera i could consider buying :)
-
yep...and shame on sony for that. cause it is easier to make an APSC BSI sensor than FF one. It is not that it could give us some huge benefit in IQ... its just that it seems that sony is...
-
They should have moved to BSI
-
pfft.. why are they all trying to "fix" something that works well :S
-
i don't see anyone buying a d7200 wanting a cutting edge video. D7200 is a still camera and anyone who want it know that.
