Compared to the A7R, the 36mp A7R is ahead of the Xpro2. Mostly tiny fine detail at base ISO.

The A7R is about 1.5 - 2 stops ahead the Xpro2 as far as high ISO detail, like xpro2 ISO 1600 vs A7R ISO 5000 etc.

I see about the same with the A6300.

The following are crops from X-Pro2 and A7R at ISO 12800.  Both cameras were set at f/5.6, 1/5000s.  The A7R image has been resized to 24MP for direct comparison.

Look at the girl's face, the A7R has blown highlights.  This means the X-Pro2's sensor has higher DR at ISO 12800.

FWIW, I don't own A7R or X-Pro2.  So I'm not defending any camera.
