Same here. The 12-40 is such a boring workhorse, but the results please me to no end. The 12-40 was the lens that unlocked m43 for me.

Completely different handling. Do you plan to shoot with the Pro zooms? Or are you more of a prime guy?

Don't mean to make any heads explode, but Panasonic is still offering this lens at $99 with employee pricing. Even shows as being "in stock" at the company store.

Contrary to the many, many claims around here, I don't recall anyone saying that mirrorless cameras would automatically deliver significant reductions in lens size, beyond a small improvement in...

I think you mean micro-celebrity Steve Huff.

So what, actually, do we get versus the E-M10 Mk II? * Better materials in the body. * Slightly better resolution. * 1/8000 mechanical shutter. * Faster burst. * Same battery as the E-M1 and...

I owned the immediate predecessor to this model. It struggled with color. Color would be one reason to choose Fuji over this.

Let me muddy the waters a bit. I went m43 > Fuji > m43 and have been back with m43 for a couple of years now. The E-M1 and E-M5 II are just excellent tools to take pictures with. Small, powerful, ...

@BarnET: Nikon already sells a rather excellent 24 1.8 lens, which should be close enough to a 23 so as not to matter.

Apologies if this has already been posted, but Nikon has put up a nice comparison between this and the...

Idiotic, non-standard cable? So kind of like Apple, then?

I own both. There's a big difference in the final output once you add up the better sharpness, better bokeh, and faster shutter speeds (or lower ISO) that you get with the PRO lens. Isolate any ...

Reach is something you don't think you'll need until you get it. Then you can't live without it. I'm surprised at how frequently I shoot at 100-150mm with the Olympus.
-
Lol. That's not quite how the free market works.
-
A true specialist lens. I hope owners enjoy it. I'll stick with the flexibility (and relatively lower price) of my 40-150 2.8 + teleconverter. Not quite the same reach, but sufficient for my purposes.
-
Consider picking up the 40-150 as a companion. It's $100 and weighs almost nothing. It's not uncommon to need some extra reach for travel photos.
-
Never. It has been as low as $599, but you'll never see it for the 60% off that this lens is currently selling for.
-
Indeed. Give me a genuinely excellent 12-60 f/2.8-4.0 and I'd be a very happy bunny. I don't even mind if it's a little on the big side. I agree it's very unlikely to materialize.
