Steven, that's funny - I have to shoot with my left eye, and that was the main reason to sell my X-T10 and return to the (fw 4.0) X-E2. On the X-T10 my right hand kept smearing my specs all the...

I see. There seems to be some logic in that IMO, as in zone focusing the actual focus area is only established at the very last moment. The only thing that is decided upon previously is that it is ...

On my X-T 10 the area of magnification corresponds with the focusing square - where ever you have set it, be it right in the middle of the viewfinder, in a corner, or anywhere in between. So in ...

It wouldn't amaze me if the 35/2 is intended primarily to function as a standard lens for the X-Pro 1/2, as its shape (including the hood) takes up a lot less OVF space.

Albert & OP, would Rico's manual be of any use to an X-T10 owner like me, or only cause confusion? Thanks in advance, Hans www.hansmuus.com

No, these settings are not strong at all. The detail-slider operates a masking of details: set at zero it exerts its strongest influence > less details. At 100 it simply doesn't do a thing, hence ...

Yeah, that seems to be the X-T10 (and probably also the X-T1) way to do it (or use manual focus and the AF-L). It is fine with me, I have only to get used to not adding the locking as an afterthought.

Right, and thanks. So unlike on the X100 and the X-E2 I have to keep the shutter half-pressed. Which is a bit more cumbersome for a left-eyed photographer like me (more of my face gets in the way ...

Thanks Vic, but it's not the difference between the menu settings pressing and holding. What I am used to do in some situations (and what is somehow very hard to clarify in words), is to autofocus ...

Grumpyrocker, thanks, but that is not what I mean. I want the AF-L to just lock the previously achieved focus, and not to focus again and then lock. That's all.
-
Thanks for the suggestion, but that's not it - just checked it, and it's turned off already.

Right, but on the X-100 and the X-E2 you can let go of the half pressed shutter button and *then* still lock your previously set focus (in S mode) with the AF-L button, while on the X-T10 the ...

I have tried every setting in the book (I think), but I cannot prevent the AFL from refocusing when I just want it to lock focus (in the most basic of settings: S, single point focus). Of course, ...

I have come (almost) full circle on this matter of processing Raw Fuji files. My default LR sharpening settings are 25, 1, 100 and 10. I use no clarity all over, never, only a wee bit (<8) in ...
