Patrick Warburton to play Lemony Snicket in Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events

Patrick Warburton (The Tick, Rules of Engagement) has been cast as Lemony Snicket in Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed.

Warburton joins a cast that includes Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) as play Count Olaf, Malina Weissman (Supergirl) as Violet Baudelaire and newcomers Louis Hynes as Klaus Baudelaire. The character of Lemony Snicket, “author” of A Series of Unfortunate Events, was previously voiced by Jude Law in the 2004 movie.

A Series of Unfortunate Events is set to be directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, who will also executive producer alongside author Daniel Handler.

Latina superstar Belinda cast in 2017’s Baywatch reboot

Mexican singer-songwriter Belinda has landed a role alongside Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron in Seth Gordon’s 2017 Baywatch reboot.

Spanish website El Pais confirmed the actress/singer’s involvement with the film during a phone interview, and Belinda herself later took to Instagram to post a picture of her arriving in Savannah, Georgia, which is where the film is currently being shot.

For those who are unfamiliar with Belinda and her work, she is a hugely successful recording artist who has often been called the “Princess of Latin Pop.” Worldwide, her albums have been sold around 16 million times, making her one of the best-selling female Mexican singers of all time.

First image from Batman: The Killing Joke, Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill confirmed for voice cast

This year, Alan Moore and Brian Bolland’s iconic Joker tale Batman: The Killing Joke will get the DC Universe Animated Original Movies treatment, and we now have the first image from the hotly-anticipated adaptation courtesy of Mark Hamill on Twitter…

Meanwhile, Cbr has confirmed that Hamill and his Batman: The Animated Series co-star Kevin Conroy will reprise the roles of The Joker and Batman respectively, while DC animation regular Tara Strong will once again voice Barbara Gordon / Batgirl and Ray Wise will portray Commissioner Gordon.

Justin Cornwell joins Bill Paxton in Training Day series

CBS’ Training Day TV series has found its co-lead, announcing that Justin Cornwell (Alpha House, Chi-Raq) is set to join Bill Paxton in the small screen follow-up to Antoine Fuqua’s 2001 crime drama.

Cornwell will play Kyle Craig, “an idealistic young African American police officer [who] is appointed to an elite squad of the Lapd, where he is partnered with a seasoned, morally ambiguous Caucasian detective (Paxton).”

Furthermore, the network has announced that Drew Van Acker, Katrina Law, Lex Scott Davis and Julie Benz have all signed on to appear in the pilot, which has been scripted by Will Beall and will be directed by Danny Cannon (Gotham).
