It's all fine and good until they actually have a product out there for us to use. Hopefully it won't take another 3+ years before the public can use it.

Some of those were really good. Nikon should have started a meme with this and encouraged people to be creative. It's not the Japanese way but making lemonade from lemons is very effective.

The guy did cross the line in sending it into a submission but then again it makes you wonder how many of these contests have similar alterations. I know some don't since they require you to send...

There's always a chance. When CC was announced Adobe indicated on their blogs that it was their intention to keep LR available standalone indefinitely. But corporations change their directions now...

What is true raw? All cameras postprocess their sensor data in the imaging chain before it gets recorded to memory.

Touch screen focus makes sense only when you're not using the viewfinder -- and that's a pretty unstable position. That's why some control (paddle, joystick, etc.) is essential for good ergonomics.
-
Personally, I always hated that feature on my Minolta X700. It's retro but does it make ergonomic sense today?
-
Just like they struggled getting the first X-Pro off the shelves, hence why they can still be bought brand new.

I think, somewhere, Thom Hogan is feeling vindicated from all the things said about him regarding the D300 successor... Since the D300 I've had the 700, 800, and 750. I'll be buying this 500 later ...
-
I'm sure someone can put a "4" sticker for you to put on the D500!

The always on bluetooth is great! Now improve the mobile apps Nikon!
-
About freaking time! Congrats Nikon! I'm glad you finally pulled it off. I might actually buy this, too, to go with my D750 or possibly replace it!

I wish we could move past this ancient VGA, EGA, XGA, SVGA, SXGA, etc. nomenclature. Was marginally useful in the days of the 80286 and 80386 processors but it's past its time.

Whatever. Here's a discussion with Iliah Borg on this very topic. https://photographylife.com/does-fuji-cheat-with-its-sensors and comments.
-
Iliah Borg proved in RawDigger than Fuji isn't cheating on ISO. The problem is that some raw converters like ACR don't handle the midpoint correction properly artificially lowering the brightness...

I think everyone knows that or at least should. But a MF monster like this has very limited usefulness.
-
Maybe but I think it will end up in a wash when this is finally released and the performance of the 200 f2 is amazing. hard to see this approaching that level of performance. Working distance is...

I wonder why someone would get this over a 200 f2?
