Welcome!

As the Director of the Early Childhood Laboratory School at Delaware State University I would like to welcome you to our NEW website! We take great pride in our outstanding child-centered curriculum provided for our school’s youngest learners from 12 months to Pre-Kindergarten 5 year olds.  Our goal is to offer individualized educational opportunities in a positive multi-cultural learning environment that prepares our students to become lifelong learners and contributing members of society.

The DSU Lab School has an exceptional team of creative, professional educators who dedicate a tremendous amount of time and energy providing the best possible education for all of our students. We use formative and summative assessments to gather data on the academic growth of our students and use this data to develop appropriate learning centers and individualized instruction.  Regular review and revision of the curriculum helps us to ensure that we are delivering the best possible learning experience for each child.

We acknowledge the importance of parental involvement in the success of our program and enjoy the strong relationships with our Parent Committee and community volunteers.  The presence of early field experience students and volunteers in the classroom allows us to expose children to different teaching styles, cultures and languages through individual interactions to expand learning opportunities.

Again, Welcome to Delaware State University’s Early Childhood Laboratory School! It is our pleasure to serve the University, the beautiful Capital City of Dover and Delaware’s most valuable assets, our children.  I invite you to explore our website often, as each visit will have new features highlighting all the unique learning experiences that DSU Lab School has to offer your family.
