I have used the Sony RX100 IV since last summer.  After watching the DP Review of this camera I found the video to be accurate in its conclusions.  In terms of battery life, the one thing that will help is to ensure you have turned off all wireless and NF resources when they are not in use.  I recently bought a screen protector and leather case from Sony and they both fit perfectly.  I initially chose this Sony over the competing Canon because in my opinion Sony has a bit better technology ...

I purchased this camera with the expectation it would have the same or better specifications then my Sonny DSCHX 10V to my disappointment in order to shoot some  little bird I have to be closed to the subject if I shoot a bird within 12 to 15 feet the birds are to small on my computer the image size can not be increased to a reasonable size without distortion. I am very disappointed with this camera. Hildegard

Hello I've had this brilliant little camera for just under a month. I bought it for a holiday in Singapore and the shots can be seen at http://www.britton-pictures.co.uk/Singapore-2015 I'm amazed at how small this camera is considering all the features that are packed into it.  Its actually no bigger than my old Canon PowerShot S80.  It actually looks tiny when you first get it out of the box.  The consequence is that the battery isn't very big and so other reviews say it doesn't last so long ...

My full, detailed review with sample images is below - http://davidcandlish.photography/sony-rx100-4 Summarised conclusions - Conclusion Sony have once again produced a technical marvel. It's really exciting watching how they are innovating and it's great for photography. The image quality is good & the video capabilities are fantastic. It's a great camera. The headline new features are very exciting on paper and if you can shoot in conditions to take advantage of them they will give you ...

I used the RX100 IV extensively during my recent trip to Costa Rica. I do mostly street and landscape photography and I use a camera and not my iPhone to memorise situations when I travel. The RX100 IV is an impressive piece of engineering that delivers excellent pictures given its size. Technically, the results cannot be compared with a full-format camera at all, of course. But the quality of a picture is not defined by its resolution anyway. I delivers good raws that had enough flexibility ...

I have a bunch of Sonys: F828, A100, A350, NEX-5, A55, NEX-7, A7, and A7II. The RX100 IV is not the best of them, but it is clearly capable of competing well with the likes of the NEX-7 in IQ, and that's a neat trick. Beyond that, it's pocketable and still has a fast zoom lens, nice EVF, and both 4K and 960FPS video -- this is a pocket workhorse! As much as I hoped the overall IQ would beat my NEX-7, it doesn't. There's no question that the sensor tech just can't quite make-up the difference ...

Overall a great camera and recommended.  Image quality is excellent and it is very responsive.  I have a 5D2 and all L series lenses as well but needed something easy to carry but still with good IQ.  I looked at RX1 but missed/poor AF a deal breaker for me, shame as I wanted to like it better and it is good value now.  I would say that I think the rx100iv is a little too clever for its own good with slightly overcomplicated menus,  e.g. sometimes when I zoom in (just using the zoom toggle ...

I want to start by saying that I am not an professional photographer, just a enthustiatic amateur, mostly taking family pictures at home or when hiking or travelling. Being an Canon fan and a owner of canon EOS 60D, it was quite a step to decide to buy the Sony RX100M4. But I was looking for a good small HQ camera which would be easier to carry around while travelling, specially when you have young kids. Still I wanted to have all the standard EOS programs like P,A,S and M to play with. Being ...

Not many user reviews yet, so I will give back to the community by posting mine. First, I am and always have been a fan of pocket-friendly cameras, and have never considered a larger size camera as I would almost never want to lug it around. Second, I value good-to-excellent photo quality and decent video quality. Third, I have a general personal preference for Sony cameras. Yes, the RX100 IV does fit in my pocket – pants, jacket, etc., but I prefer to carry it in my Lowepro Apex 20 AW case; ...

I was given the chance to get hands on with the RX100-IV (and a limited time with the RX10-II as well) at the SE Asia launch event yesterday. Bear in mind this is based on about 90 mins with the camera, a full & detailed review will follow in due course :) First impressions are that it looks & feels just like an RX100-III.  There was not much wrong with the mark 3 in this regard so this is maybe no surprise.  Likewise, normal shooting operations were virtually identical and quite familiar. ...
