Michael Mando is a Canadian actor, born in Quebec City, Quebec/Canada. He was raised by a single father (a Doctorate in Chemistry); and spent the greater part of his childhood in Africa (Ivory Coast and Ghana) before coming back home as a young teenager.

He studied Psychology and later pursued an academic scholarship in International Relations before joining The Dome Theatre in 2004-2007. He instantly excelled at The Dome where he went on to play the male lead in all 5 productions; graduated with excellence; and was named by the chairman "as one of the finest talents to emerge from the program in the past 25 years".

After being snapped up to play leading characters in critically and commercially acclaimed theatre plays in and around Montreal; Mando moved to Toronto where he pierced into film and television with acclaimed guest stars on shows The Bridge (2010) and The Border (2010).

He burst into the international scene through the video game world, in his award winning full capture performance as Vaas Montenegro in Far Cry 3 (2012); as well as his live action performance in the web-series The Far Cry Experience (2012).

In 2013, he joined BBC's original Orphan Black cast and went on to be nominated twice in the same year at The Canadian Screen Awards (2014); for both his performance in Orphan Black and his guest star in Rookie Blue.

In 2015, he joined the cast as a series regular on Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould's highly anticipated Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul, where he plays Nacho Varga.

Mando is the Artistic Director and President of Red Barlo Productions.
His first professional appearance, in which he played the title role, earned a record breaking 5 MECCA nominations.
Michael played the lead in all 5 Productions at The Dome Theatre where is he is praised by the Chairman as "one of the finest talents to emerge from the program in the last 25 years".
During his teens, he competitively played football, ice hockey and soccer. He still plays recreational soccer and basketball.
Mando has attended 2 universities, 4 high schools and 3 colleges - He had a lot of trouble deciding what he wanted to do growing up; bouncing between economy, psychology and international relations. He discovered acting for the first time in his early twenties. He quickly excelled and fell in love with the craft because it married his 3 first loves into a single profession: sports, music and poetry.
By his early 20s, Michael had already lived in 10 cities, 5 countries, 4 continents and over 35 different houses, which helped him better absorb different cultures and behaviors.
Mando not only lends his voice, face and body to the infamous Vaas in Far Cry 3, but he also co-created the character with Ubisoft. The company was so pleased with his audition, that they created a new character based on his liking and acting choices.
Michael Mando and Bob Odenkirk became good friends during the shooting of Better Call Saul (2015).
While recording his famous "insanity" scene for Far Cry 3, Michael sat in a dark room alone talking to a tennis ball on a pole.
