Abby's family nightmare continues as she and her mother Maggie search for Abby's missing brother Eric, who Abby suspects is suffering from serious mental problems. The two women go to a Midwestern air force base, hoping to prevent Eric from being court-martialed for being absent without leave. Carter struggles to get out of Chicago to join Abby. Meanwhile, Corday treats a family of patients who, while building a snowman, were severely injured after being struck by a truck driver. She must help the father, Stuart, make a life-or-death decision. Corday also sympathizes with troubled surgical resident Paul Nathan as he struggles with the increasing symptoms of his physical handicap. Written by Anonymous
A very eventful episode with so many lives being turned around. For once there is Abby whose brother got the manic disease from their mother. He still doesn't want to accept it and the mother wants him to figure it out on his own because one can't help him if he is not willing to. She is the one who is right here, as she understand more what it feels like she also makes the sense. A good conversation there was between her and Abby.
Paul Nathan has to accept that he can't do it anymore. Elizabeth also had a great talk with him saying that he just has to accept his limitations but find ways to share his talent. I think he should go for being a psychiatrist, he has an amazing way of dealing with people. Too bad the character is done here, he was very well developed and portrayed by Don Cheadle.
He did contribute to a great case though where a family gets killed by a drunk driver and the organs of one boy are transplanted into the other to keep him alive. Such a both horrifying and yet beautiful idea. The boy will be kept alive by his brother.
