Freeform has ordered a second season of fantasy drama “Shadowhunters,” based on the book series by The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare.

The renewal was announced Monday morning during a live Q&A on Facebook with cast members. The series bowed Jan. 12 as part of the Freeform relaunch of the Disney-owned cabler formerly known as ABC Family.

Ed Decter is showrunner and exec producer of the series with McG, who directed the pilot. “Shadowhunters” stars Katherine McNamara as an 18-year-old who discovers she’s a human-angel hybrid whose job it is to hunt down demons. Matthew Daddario, Isaiah Mustafa, Alberto Rosende, Dominic Sherwood, Harry Shum Jr. and Emeraude Toubia also star.

Ian McShane Reveals Game of Thrones Plot and Doesn’t Seem to Care

When it comes to spoilers it’s a mixed bag for audiences.  Some people don’t care but some are extremely serious about finding out only what they need to, not what they shouldn’t before a show begins to air.  Looks like Ian McShane broke a few cardinal rules when it comes to a show’s reveal. Despite the efforts of HBO to prevent plot leaks of the upcoming sixth season by discontinuing the distribution of advance media screeners, McShane may have said a bit too much. A little girl’s life hangs in the balance as Team Scorpion deal with some bad blood (no pun intended) in this week’s episode of Scorpion. The Los Angeles blood supply has been tainted by the deadly Nibori virus and the culprit has mixed up the barcodes of the bags of healthy blood and diseased blood that’s used for research so that the blood is rendered unusable. Remember when I raised the question as to how one can hack into a blood bank? The answer is by piggybacking on a software update and change the numbers of the barcodes on each

‘Preacher’ Premiere: AMC’s Comic Adaptation Converts New Fans and Pleases the Faithful at SXSW

3 hours ago | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

AMC has already seen plenty of success with one popular comic book adaptation, and “The Walking Dead” looks set to have fine company in Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s long-gestating “Preacher,” judging by the rapturous reaction the pilot received at SXSW on Monday.

In its world premiere screening at the Paramount Theater, the TV iteration of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s controversial comic drew raucous laughter, applause and outright cheers from the packed house, even in scenes that Rogen later admitted he wasn’t sure would earn a laugh. “I turned to Evan during the screening and said ‘we’re in a room with the most f—ed up people,'” he quipped during the post-episode Q&A.

The property has been a passion project for Rogen and Goldberg since they were kids, the co-directors and executive producers said, and they’ve been fighting to adapt it for 10 years. »

‘The Bachelor’ Finale Recap: What Happened Before — And After — Ben Proposed?

3 hours ago | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead, if you have not watched the Season 20 finale of “The Bachelor.” The following post reveals the winner chosen by Ben Higgins.

About three quarters into the two-hour “Bachelor” finale (not counting the hour-long after show), Ben says that he is just confused as he has ever been about which of the two remaining women he will propose to. In this moment, we become painfully aware that ABC programmed ninety minutes of television intended solely for the audience to fill and refill its collective wine glass. Indeed, a “Bachelor” finale is not a plot-dense event. That being said, no pay-off comes without proper build-up, and Chris Harrison, of all people, knows how to set a stage.

We start live in the company of an in-studio audience: jeweler-to-the-stars Neil Lane is there, Ben’s pastor is backstage and the families of both finalists are in the house. »

In Better Call Saul, Chuck was married, once upon a time. Not too long ago; just a few years. Her name was Rebecca, and she played the violin, and she was an excellent cook. She’s also warm, and inviting, and open, all things that Chuck is not. Chuck feels upstaged by Jimmy, who has barged into his corner of the world and muddied it up with jokes and swears. Chuck resides above the mud; he hates the mud; he wants to be above reproach. But that leaves him a cold, antiseptic figure. There are other characters who fit this description, Howard

Jojo Fletcher is officially the next “Bachelorette” for ABC’s hit dating show.

The announcement was made during Monday night’s live episode of “After the Final Rose,” following the Season 20 finale of “The Bachelor,” in which Ben Higgins picked his winner.

Fletcher, a 25-year-old real estate developer from Dallas, Texas, was the runner-up on “The Bachelor.” Tonight, she lost out to Lauren Bushnell who is now engaged to Higgins, after accepting his proposal on the finale.

Fletcher’s announcement comes as a surprise, as “Bachelor” contestant Caila Quinn was rumored to have been selected as the next “Bachelorette,” partly because she is half Filipino and the ABC reality show has faced much criticism for its lack of diversity. However, Fletcher’s mother is Persian. On the hometown dates episode on “The Bachelor,” Higgins visited Fletcher’s family’s home and spent time with her mother, father and brothers. On “The Bachelor’s” official website, »
