This film is a biographical drama about the self-taught Indian mathematics genius, Srinivasa Ramanujan, who is admitted to Cambridge University in the UK during World War I, and becomes a pioneer in mathematical theories under the guidance of the eminent British mathematician G.H. Hardy. The film depicts the struggles he faces as he leaves his newly-wedded wife in India, learns to adapt to a new environment, and deals with racism and prejudice.

The film contains some war images without strong details. For example, there is an image of a woman killed when bombing occurs in England during the war.

The film also depicts how the protagonist is being treated with disdain and skepticism because of his foreign background.
