Bringing old world romance in vogue- the makers of upcoming drama, Azhar released their second song ‘Itni Si Baat’ today. The song features Emraan and Prachi and has been created by guest composer Pritam. Sung by Arijit Singh & Antara Mitrawhich ‘Itni Si Baat’ shows us Azhar’s relationship with his first wife Naureen. The melodious track with its lyrical rendition symbolises the kind of bond that Azhar and Naureen shared.

After turning author with 'The Kiss Of Life: How A Superhero and My Son Defeated Cancer', Emraan Hashmi has decided to contribute some more to the social cause. The actor, whose four year old son Ayaan was diagnosed with cancer, has decided to make a documentary to spread awareness about the disease. Emraan Hashmi recently revealed that he will be extending the book into a documentary and will be producing the same. Though it is the first time for Emraan Hashmi to be a producer, he maintained that now that he has written a book, this too will be a new experience. The said documentary will look varied aspects of cancer, from medical to how to change the lifestyle. The stressful and erratic shoot schedules can take a toll on an actor's health and we have heard of several such incidents in the past. And now recently, Nargis Fakhri who is shooting for Azhar faced a similar situation. She collapsed whilst shooting a song sequence for the film. It is a known fact that Azhar is based on the life of former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin and Nargis Fakhri plays the role of former actress Sangeeta Bijlani, the second wife of the cricketer, in this film. Whilst shooting for the song sequence, a remake of the 90s chartbuster 'Oye Oye' (from the film Tridev starring Sangeeta Bijlani), the actress suddenly collapsed. After a doctor was called immediately on the sets, the actress was diagnosed with high fever. It is also being said that the producers suffered a loss of Rs. 35-40 lakhs owing to the setback. Karanvir Sharma to play Azhar’s nemesis in the film

Bollywood actor Karanvir Sharma will now be seen essaying the role of the Azhar’s nemesis in the Emraan Hashmi starrer movie. Karanvir plays the inspired character of Manoj, who had an important part to play in the downfall of Azhar.
Karanvir has worked hard to get into the skin of the character. As a part of his preparation for the role, he underwent long hours of committed practice to get the bowling and batting spot on. He specially worked on his bowling style as it had to be tampered from unorthodox to orthodox off-swinger. “All of this had to be done over a course of two months as I was the last actor to come on board. Needless to say the voice modulation, the 80’s hairstyle, the moustache and a lot of tan added to the hard work.”

The extremely versatile singer Sonu Nigam, who was in the news lately because of his knee surgery, is yet again in the news. This time round, he has shown what mettle is he made up of.
Recently, Sonu recorded a song for the Emraan Hashmi starrer Azhar. This was not 'yet another recording' for the singer. The reason being, after reporting to a suburban recording studio on crutches, he recorded the track sitting on a sofa!
Speaking about the track, Azhar's music director Amaal Malik just could not stop praising the singer. Mallik said that Sonu's commitment was something that had to be seen in order to be believed. He added that Sonu Nigam recorded the track sitting on a sofa and that too in 20 minutes flat!

The makers of Azhar have released yet another dramatic poster of the film that brings out the extreme emotions cricket fans experienced when the match fixing scandal broke. Allegations were leveled against former Indian cricket captain and country’s youth icon Azharuddin as he faced a barrage of protests and accusations for being a ‘sell out’ and a ‘match fixer’.
The burning hoarding along with a sea of fans and protestors gives us an indication that the film will have dramatic twists and turns. Nargis Fakhri, who plays Bollywood actress and Azhar’s second wife, Sangeeta Bijlani, spoke about her role in the film and discussed a few exciting moments from the set that will definitely get the rumor mills churning.

A well-known Surrey tourist spot is to feature in one of Bollywood’s most eagerly awaited movies of the year.
Mayfield Lavender in Banstead features in Azhar, an upcoming film that depicts the rise and fall of Indian cricket hero Mohammad Azharuddin.
Charting Azharuddin’s humble beginnings to his meteoric rise in the world of cricket, the biopic has been directed by Tony D’Souza and has its worldwide release in May.
Mayfield Lavender celebrates its 10 year anniversary this summer having provided the village of Banstead with its own little piece of Provence for a decade.
Mayfield Lavender owner Lorna Maye said: “We are honoured and delighted that our farm stars in this new movie. It is in fact the second Indian film that has been shot in part here. In 2013 the field was used as a backdrop in Malayalam film ‘London Bridge’.”

Nargis Fakhri and Emraan Hashmi have taken the retro route for their upcoming romantic track, Bol Do Na Zara from the film Azhar. While most actors are seen moving around in chauffeured cars and expensive motorbikes, the director Tony Douza took a conscious decision to shoot the lead pair on bicycles amidst beautiful lavender fields. A source said, “Director Tony D’Souza wanted to shoot in a lavender field away from most civilization in London. He thought that his actors could romance on bicycles provided by the village folk instead of the prop department.”

Just last night, the makers of the soon to release biopic Azhar that is based on the life of ex-Indian cricket team captain Mohammed Azharuddin released the motion poster of the film. Now we hear that the makers are all set to recreate the superhit track 'Ooye Ooye' from the 1989 film Tridev. Though the makers of the film are yet to shoot for the track, we hear that while the original featured Madhuri Dixit and Sangeeta Bijlani, the recreated version will feature Nargis Fakhri. The makers are yet finalize the second actress for the song. When quizzed on why this particular track features in the film, Tony D'Souza, the director of Azhar says, "First of all 'Ooye Ooye' is a song that I really liked, and secondly this track was very popular when Azhar bhai was playing. Apart from this there are no other reasons why we are recreating the track. »

The makers of Azhar, starring Emraan Hashmi, have released the first behind the scenes video of Emraan Hashmi getting trained by cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin. While Azhar had truly taken it upon himself to teach Emraan the nuances of cricket from batting techniques to his stance, the video is a clear portrayal of the hard work put in by Emraan to fit into Azhar’s shoes!
Emraan added, “I’ve looked up to him and followed pretty much every match when he was playing. His advice on everything is very clear and he doesn’t put much pressure. He lets you be and slowly you see the parts of your game get better.”
And this is what Azhar had to say about Emraan, “He has really been very patient and he’s a very good learner”

Lara Dutta to play a daring lawyer in ‘Azhar’

Lara Dutta, whose last onscreen appearance was Fitoor, will now be seen playing the role of a no-nonsense lawyer in Azhar. The actress described her character as a fearless lawyer who stands for the truth and is unafraid of her colleagues. “It’s a challenging role and I had fun playing it because it’s a totally fictional character but integral to the narrative,” says Lara.
She shot for most of her scenes in Hyderabad with a few sequences in London. The actress will be seen as Azhar’s arch nemesis in the film, who goes out of her way to prove that he was responsible for the match-fixing scandal. Lara has worked hard to fit the bill of a lawyer. Gautam Gulati to play a cricketer turned commentator in ‘Azhar’

After a successful innings at the Bigg Boss House, Gautam Gulati will now be seen playing a cricketer turned commentator, Ravish in the film Azhar.
Commenting on his character, Gautam said, “When I read the script I instantly fell in love with the character. He’s a flamboyant, sophisticated cricketer who had played an important role in Mohammad Azharuddin’s life when he was just starting out.”
The actor has worked hard to get into the skin of the character. As a part of his preparation for the role, he had to undergo a two month long workshop with the director before shooting commenced apart from watching commentary videos. “You’ll see me doing a lot of commentary, so besides the reading sessions I watched a lot of commentating videos as part of the prep. Cricket commentary is not an easy job; it requires presence of mind and impromptu lines. »

Amaal Malik steps in place of Pritam

Ever since the time the Tony D'Souza directed Azhar has been announced, it has been making news. This time round, the news is that, the film's music composer Pritam has now been replaced by the budding talent Amaal Mallik (who had composed the music of the Sooraj Pancholi-Athiya Shetty starrer Hero). The reason for Pritam to be out of the project is being cited as health issues, because of which he was not being able to follow the deadline. Speaking about this, Pritam's spokesperson told the media that Pritam had lost out on three weeks because of his hospitalisation in February. And because of this, he wasn't able to complete Azhar's soundtrack. And since Azhar is scheduled to release in May, the film makers were not able to afford the delay.
