mixed feelings
Jason has too good of a voice to have such an over produced album. The sound of this album seems to be more about his producer than about him. Watch Me Dance and Take Me Back are probably my favorites. Flexible is a great song, but I think the original by Billie Myers sounds better. I would probably like this version more if it seemed less of a copy from the original and he put more of his personal imprint on it. Anyway, Jason - you have a great voice and I think you're an artist that will be on the scene a long time. I hope this album does well enough that the next time around you can get your label to make your next album more about YOU than your producer!
FLEXIBLE BUT NOT VERSATILE
There's n denying how wonderful Jason Walker's voice is. The boy can sing -- and sing from the heart and soul! But his second effort is not as great a stretch as the first outing. Walker's voice is lost amid the massive production -- this album is more a rave than an artist endeavor exploiting the talent of the vocalist; it's as if the beats and bangs were meant to be more important...if that is the case than Jason Walker's vocals should be considered a featured role to the producer's club mix. Maybe next time.
Another Great Job!
I stumbled upon Jason Walker last winter/spring and just fell in love with "Reaching"-- I ended purchasing the entire album for extra motivation for those mornings that i need it. His voice is truly captivating to me- I look forward to getting hours of play from this album too!
