Considering I shot with a 1Dx for almost two years, yes it's as accurate in the situations I shot it under the current firmware

Thanks Sandy you saved me the time of going to your thread. Would you say the AF as accurate and as fast when the subject is barely moving or moving horizontally at walking speed in very good light? Meaning that basically is as fast as 95% of DSLRs nowadays?

I replied to Adam about how I shoot, but of course will be happy to answer. I shot both the model walking at the camera and moving horizontally across the frame while leaping in the air. In both situations (one in broad daylight the other in shade) the camera tracked quite well. As I told Adam for what I shoot day in and out the AF is as good from my personal experience. Will it track a tennis ball perfectly at the US Open? No idea.

Would you mind if I second-guess the validity of your affirmation? See, to me you are dropping the info knowing full well that people's take home message will be that the K1D track and AF as fast as the 1DX in all situations (even if you havent explicitly said it like that) . Basically, what you are stating is only one step above in terms of "misleadingness" in comparison with say... the elixir of youth.

Actually I clearly stated in my short thoughts that under the conditions that I actually shoot in it is as good. Granted all I am shooting is a walking model which I do al the time for various publications, and while for me is all I need in tracking AF and accuracy (which admittedly isn't that stressful a test) my statements are accurate for the conditions I actually shoot in.

Now, note that I dont blame you for getting an agreement with a camera company to speak highly of their products (implicit or explicitly... we all know that pro-photog trying to make a living like to be sponsored and they wont get sponsored if they say bad things about their products). At the end of the day you wont be the one forking 1800 USD for a camera thinking you can track your kid running randomly at bullet train speed....(note that I am not saying it wont, I only doubt it will do it as well and as fast as the 1DX)

A bullet train would be as much a struggle as say an F1 car at COTA at the US Gran Prix. I actually know guys that shoot Formula 1 with the 1Dx and they're happy if they get a hit rate of 50%. Would I shoot something like that with the K1? No. Would I try shooting a kid running around? Yeah it should handle it perfectly fine if I am using the new 24-70/2.8 which is also part of the equation

An impartial review :.)
