Dear Fellow Graduate Student:

Welcome! Congratulations on your acceptance into the School of Graduate Studies and Research at Delaware State University.

Hailing from Waldorf, MD, my name is John Wallace your 2015-2016 Graduate Student Association president.  On behalf of the Graduate Student Association (GSA), it is indeed my distinct pleasure to welcome you to Delaware State University. I am so excited that you have chosen the best HBCU in the country to continue your educational pursuits. It is exciting to be able to learn, work, and live in the Dover, Delaware community. I wish you much success this academic year and would like you to know that GSA is here to assist you in your every endeavor. I would like to encourage you to become an active member of the GSA. There are many opportunities to serve both in leadership and supportive roles. GSA is here to make your experience at Delaware State University a great one and we do this through events, programs, and workshops.  This year, GSA will be highly engaged with the DSU population and our surrounding community, preparing our graduate students with the knowledge and opportunities to make their mark on the global economy.

I am looking forward to having the entire Graduate Student population on board this year.  I wish you all the best in all of your future endeavors.

I would like to thank the school of Graduate Studies for entrusting me with the opportunity to serve as the Vice-President for the Graduate Student Association. Furthermore, I'd like to extend a thank you to the Department of Athletics for offering a Graduate Assistantship through the NCAA Accelerated Academic Success Program Grant. This has allowed me the ability to attend a fine institution such as Delaware State University; and joining the Hornets family.
