For me, I have the A7RII and A7SII, as well as my Canon gear, but one Sony top of the line camera has too many pixels for my everyday photography (I sometimes welcome it but not always) and the...

Yes, I think that would be the sweet spot for me too. Particularly if it had 4K.

Or: It's a whatever. They ALL have issues and strengths.

Incidentally, I would add that in many ways the DR obsession isn't really much more advantageous than the previous megapixel race was, and I am often amused and horrified in equal part to see the...

I use Canon, Sony A7RII, Sony A7SII, Olympus and Panasonic, for just a few. What you ACTUALLY hear from Canon users if you don't have comprehension issues is that the dynamic range issues affect...

Good lord, is this guy still banging on? I swear I go away for months, if not years, and I come back and he is still bashing a camera he does not use (or like). I don't use Nikon. (One of the...

Even Canon has used 4 a couple of times, but if you look at camera names in general, they do tend to try to avoid it. I've lived in Asia for almost 40 years, and this is a place where many ...

I use both Sony and Canon, and this is a horrendous problem with the Sonys, much worse than Canon's issue with magenta. Sony loses ALL detail in the blues. It's messed up a lot of wedding photographs.

No one seems to have written anything on this, but it may be my favourite here. Like the framing and the lighting.
-
Blue-ish LED style lighting like this is not the A7 series strongpoint. Particularly as in the last shot. Some people have suggested deliberately setting the white balance VERY warm and ...

Very nice colours. I'd be tempted to try a vertical crop on the first one with only the bird in the middle, perhaps framed on the right of the photo.

Very nice. Love the early morning or late afternoon light. While others may curse snow, living in Asia now I sorely miss it.

First Day with the A7 R II

You bet your life I didn't. And that was one reason.

... that it was another brand that had such lousy battery life and Sony that had great battery life. I wonder how different responses would be then. I shoot several different brands, often shooting ...

Be on the internet more than five minutes, with some perception, and you quickly learn that invariably: "So what you are saying ....." is followed by a straw man tactic.
