LSESU ASEAN Society interview LSE SEAC Director Danny Quah

The LSESU ASEAN Society, established in 2015, launched their student blog in January 2016 with an interview with Professor Danny Quah. LSE SEAC launch a new Lectures+ Series 

In February 2016, LSE SEAC will launch Lectures+, a collaborative project with the LSESU UN Society that seeks to enhance the experience of LSE’s Public Lecture Programme for students, speakers and guests. The inaugural Lecture+ will be the LSE IDEAS public lecture with Philippe Roman Chair Ian Morrison on Tuesday 9th February, titled Each Age Gets the Bloodshed It Needs: 20,000 Years of Violence. Applications open for Khattar Masters Scholarship 2016/17

Applications are now open for the Khattar Scholarship, with three awards of £33,000 available for students from a South East Asian country to study on any taught masters programme in 2016/17 at LSE. This scholarship has an affiliation with the Saw Swee Hock South East Asia Centre, and the successful recipient(s) will be affiliated with the Centre.

Professor Saw bestowed with the Distinguished Alumni Leadership Award at the LSE Asia Forum in Singapore

Professor Saw Swee Hock, whose generous support made the establishment of LSE SEAC possible, accepted the Distinguished Alumni Leadership Award on 28th November 2015 at the LSE Asia Forum in Singapore. Panel discussions on the topics of Asian lessons of political openness and economic performance, ASEAN, and the meaning of genuine development also took place.
