When Britney Spears married her second husband and baby daddy, Kevin Federline, they picked up a luxury love shack inside the guarded gates of Malibu’s prestigious Serra Retreat enclave. The pop star and wannabe rapper’s marriage soon and spectacularly soured, and their once happy home was sold off for $10 million in an off-market deal in August 2007 to action-horror pic master Stephen Sommers.

The “Van Helsing” and “Mummy” director and his wife, Jana, gave the gated and landscaped estate a thorough overhaul, and popped it back on the open market in 2011, with a $15.95 million pricetag. They had a devil of time unloading the place, but finally, after more than three years on and off the market at a variety of prices, have sold it for $11.45 million. Property records show the buyer as a newly formed corporate entity that several well-informed informants whispered to this property gossip is controlled by fitness guru turned real estate mogul Danny Errico, who immediately put the property up for lease at $47,500 per month.

A humongous, double-height entrance hall steps up to a deluxe bar area and leads to roomy formal living and dining rooms. Less-formal quarters include a double-island kitchen, a huge family room that spills out to the backyard, a children’s playroom and — natch — a professional-grade home theater. Listing details show the 9,130-square-foot mansion has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, including a sprawling master suite complete with adjoining fitness room, marble bathroom and a pair of super-sized walk-in closets. A separate guesthouse has a fireplace, yoga space and living area.

The backyard has numerous terraces that give way to broad lawns and a lagoon-like swimming pool with rock waterfall, grotto and swim-up bar. A pergola-shaded lounge next to the pool has a fireplace, as does a separate dining terrace with built-in barbecue. There’s also a sport court, sunken trampoline and a two-story children’s playhouse.

The property tucks up to the base of the rugged mountains at the back of the celeb-approved neighborhood, where some of the other estates are owned by Camille Grammer, Matt Groening, David Charvet and James Cameron, who owns not just one but two side-by-side estates.
