SNL starlet Kate McKinnon is set to host this year's Independent Film Spirit Awards alongside "Silicon Valley" star and podcaster extraordinaire Kuamil Nanjiani. Although, Kumail may be confused about what exactly he is going to host. Maybe he's just excited for the warm Santa Monica weather. Luckily, Kate is there to talk some sense into him.
Both parities have exciting projects in the works, with McKinnon's female-led "Ghostbusters" sequel hitting this July and another season of "Silicon Valley" dropping on HBO in late April. After last year's delightful hosting job by Fred Armisen and Kristen Bell, Kumail and Kate have some pretty big shoes to fill, but we are sure they will bring their own comedic spins to the job.
The Spirit Awards air on IFC on February 27. Watch the two making a great team above and below.
