That zoom will cost and weigh an arm and a leg if done properly. However, would add a lot to the system flexibility. I saw people using speedbooster+1.8/18-35 (resulting 1.29/12-25) with good results as the ultimate low-light zoom. Why no native alternative? +1vote.

More to your list: proper UHS-II compatibility, full-use of the ultrafast 300MB/s cards (Lexar 2000x) with 20+fps raw continuous drive.

4k video by full-sensor readout with a 100+Mbit/sec hevc.

OIS to all new lenses longer than 20mm (especially including the coming 1.2 primes).
