Disclaimer: Every single word in this story may be true, but we recommend taking them with a Wall-sized heaping of salt. Because when Game of Thrones‘ Kit Harington says he’s only going to be in the HBO drama’s new season as a corpse… we really don’t believe he’s just going to lie there like casket fodder.
But that’s what the actor recently told Time Out London, saying that the only new scenes he’s filmed for the series were “scenes of me being dead” and joked “It’s some of my best work.”
Rumors of Harington’s involvement in the coming season, despite Jon Snow’s apparent death at the end of Season 5, have been gathering steam since the season finale. Harington’s decision to keep Jon’s long locks, along with photos of him in Belfast (one of the drama’s shooting locations), seemed to back the hopeful scuttlebutt.
But Harington and his castmates have repeated vowed that Ned Stark’s bastard son is “dead” — much like Maisie Williams did when Michael Ausiello asked her about her on-screen brother at last year’s Emmys. And for his part, Harington told Time Out London that he’s not privy to what else will happen on the show this season.
So what do you think, Game of Thrones fans? Is it likely that the show brought Harington back just to play a dead body? Or does the fact that he says he plays a “corpse” lead you to believe that maybe he’s now playing one of the Night’s King’s right-hand men? Or is it something else altogether? Drop your theory in the comments!
Whatever twist there is with his resurrection, the double-talk and misdirection is kind of silly. Candids from set already busted your play, guys. We know he’s up and moving, we know who he is with and we have a general idea of what he’s doing.
If Jon Snow doesn’t make it through no more than nine episodes, where does the series go from here and what are the chances GoT should end depending if they go beyond ten seasons?
The show will end in season 8. It has been confirmed.
8 have been confirmed, but 10 has been mentioned. And to be honest, 10 would fit the amount of story left still to be told.
He’s dead, but like he once said; ” I fight for the side that fights for the living. ”

I could write so much more on this topic, but I think that quote sums it up nicely with past season foreshadowing.
He’s azor ahai, the chosen one ressurected from the dead. So technically he’s not John snow anymore, he will be in John snows body, but he won’t be John snow.
