Abstract Photo in Monochrome

Excellent.

This is really, really cool. I saw it in the sidebar while I was reading a post and stopped reading mid-sentence to click on it. Nice work!

As I wrote, they are glass balls on (white/orange) wrapping paper.
The bigger one has a diameter of 8cm, the smaller ones either 6 or 4cm, can't remember which ones I used.

And I made a typo back then, great.

Really didn't expect to win this (my favourite ended up 20th..), partly this stuff never comes out the way I want it to do, and I am really not sure about the compostion.
The location of the reflections (of my only lightsource) are out of necessity -- otherwise the balls are either too dark or cast a more distinctive shadow with a too distracting white middle.

Beautifully conceived and shot.

The reflections on the top of the spheres show how much work you put into this.
