Le candidat entretien de recrutement #1
|
Unemployed for three years, Gerard has landed a job in Indonesia. To start off on the right foot with his "team leader", Gerard invites him to dinner. Considering his wife's lack of culinary talent, that may not be the brightest idea he ever had. Their neighbor, Alexandre, a PR whiz, is willing to help, as long as Gerard and Colette are prepared to accept changes in their habits and surroundings. After many dramas, mishaps, misunderstandings and general bungling, with frazzled nerves, Gerard and Colette open the door to welcome... their dinner guest. Written by The Film Catalogue
This is a fantastic film. The plot is relatively simple, the main character has been unemployed for several years, he does very well in a job interview and now the boss is coming over for a home cooked meal the following night. This leads to hilarious consequences, mostly from their new neighbour who acts as a consultant to help them get the job they so sorely want. L'invite or The Dinner Guest is laugh out load hilarity at many points throughout with the majority of the laughs coming from Thierry Lhermitte's neighbor character- Alexandre, I strongly suggest that you go and see it and am very surprised by all the negativity that has been said about this film. If you have a good sense of humour then you will be in hysterics all the way through. Thoroughly enjoyable.
