Commissioning Editor | Languages. A global educational publisher is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Commissioning Editor to oversee the success of their ambitious publishing plan within their languages Division. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to be at the forefront of innovation in educational publishing. Responsible for identifying and achieving commissioning targets, you will be able to give momentum to these new digital and blended publishing projects.

You will have demonstrable experience of commissioning and producing Foreign Language products across multiple formats and experience of developing, or wanting to develop, online learning material. Your pedagogy skills will be important in this role in addition to your understanding of the consumer market.

Experience of working with external contacts e.g. authors/editors/proof-readers will be an advantage.

Good XML and the ability to plan projects will be important. Reporting to the Publishing Director, you will take a hands-on role in all ongoing commissioning and publishing.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate proficiency in at least one other language and particular attention will be given to any experience in Arabic or Mandarin, although European languages will help.
