Chris Evans, Emily VanCamp and Anthony Mackie featured in Captain America: Civil War set photos

11 hours ago | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Thanks to JustJared, we’ve got a few set photos from Marvel Studios’ Phase Three-launching Captain America: Civil War featuring Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) attending a funeral (no prize for guessing who that might be for…), and Steve hanging out with his buddy Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie). Take a look…

Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

Captain America: Civil War is set for release on April 29th 2016 in »

New Captain America: Civil War Rumor Teases A Fight Between [Spoiler] And [Spoiler]

14 hours ago | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

Well, this sounds pretty cool! It's nothing too revealing of course, but it is interesting to wonder what will lead Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) to come to blows in Captain America: Civil War next year. For example, whose side will they each be on? Now that we know he has a family - who he wants to keep secret - my guess is that Clint will side with Steve, but we'll just have to wait and see. As always, be sure to share your thoughts and theories below.   Hot Rumor! In #Captainamerica #Civilwar, #Hawkeye has a huge fight against #BlackPanther! Who do you have as the winner? Hawkeye and Black Panther May Be Major Adversaries In Captain America: Civil War

15 hours ago | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

Captain America: Civil War will bring the popular comic book story arc to life on the big screen, pitting Steve Rogers against Tony Stark in a political battle over the future of all superheroes. But if the latest rumor is correct, then there.s also going to be another epic face-off to look forward to. Forget Batman vs. Superman. How about Hawkeye vs. Black Panther? Chadwick Boseman is going to make his first appearance as the Wakandan prince in Civil War, and the latest information suggests he.s going to have his own agenda in the film. Whatever that may be, it might put him at odds with the arrow-slinging Avenger. According to Latino Review.s Umberto Gonzalez, there.s going to be "a huge fight" between these two superheroes.      Hot Rumor! Will Hawkeye Battle Black Panther In Captain America: Civil War?

16 hours ago | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Well, that’s one way to make an entrance. According to superhero scoopster Umberto Gonzalez, who has delivered many spot-on discoveries about upcoming Marvel and DC blockbusters in the past few months, Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) will first make his mark on the Marvel Cinematic Universe by engaging in a “huge fight” with sharp-shooting Avenger Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) in Captain America: Civil War

Gonzalez, who sometimes goes under the pseudonym El Mayimbe and recently departed Latino Review in order to set up his own fight, broke the rumor on his Instagram page:

Another Possible Black Panther Director Contender Emerges

13 May 2015 11:05 AM, PDT | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

We'll meet Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther for the first time in Captain America: Civil War next year, but Marvel are already looking for a director to helm T'Challa's 2018 solo movie. It sounds like Ava DuVernay is a strong contender, but now another name may have entered the mix, and once again, it appears as if Kevin Feige is going to make an unexpected and interesting choice. According to El Mayimbe (via Twitter), it sounds like Marvel have met with Dope director Rick Famuyiwa. It's strictly a rumour for now of course, but the studio is known for hiring lesser known (i.e. cheap) filmmakers who have impressed critics and moviegoers with TV shows or smaller films. Famuyiwa is a native of Nigeria, and the buzz around Dope has been good, so it's well worth keeping an eye on this. How would you guys feel about Famuyiwa helming Black Panther? »

Dope Director Rick Famuyiwa Meeting With Marvel For Black Panther?

13 May 2015 9:50 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Just last night, word broke that Marvel Studios was courting Selma helmer Ava DuVernay to take the reigns of a Phase Three film (most likely Black Panther or Captain Marvel), and now rumors are spreading that Dope director Rick Famuyiwa could be in the mix as well.

The news comes from former Latino-Review writer Umberto Gonzalez (better known by social media folk as El Mayimbe), who took to Twitter early this morning:

Riddle Rumor: What other Dope director could be meeting at Marvel for Black Panther?

— Umberto Gonzalez (@elmayimbe) May 13, 2015

When TheWrap first reported that DuVernay was in talks with Marvel, they noted that the studio was adamant about getting an African-American director to take on Black Panther. While it seemed like we’d get a one-two punch of diversity with DuVernay at the helm, this could mean that she’s actually in line to direct Captain Marvel instead, which »

Selma director Ava DuVernay is in talks to join the Marvel universe

13 May 2015 1:18 AM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

Selma director Ava DuVernay could become the first woman to direct a Marvel Studios movie.

According to The Wrap, she is in talks with the studio about directing one of its upcoming films, likely Black Panther or Captain Marvel.

It has been suggested that Black Panther is the more likely project for DuVernay due to its release coming first. The film is set to open in July 2018.

DuVernay was tipped for an Oscar nomination for her work on Selma at the beginning of the year, but she controversially missed out.

Patty Jenkins was the first woman hired to direct a Marvel film when she joined Thor: The Dark World, but she left the project over creative differences and was replaced by Alan Taylor.

It was recently announced that Chadwick Boseman will make his first appearance as Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War, alongside Paul Rudd's Ant-Man and other well known superheroes. »

According to The Wrap, Marvel has tapped Selma director Ava DuVernay to direct one of its upcoming Phase Three movies, with the site reporting that Black Panther is the most likely candidate, although Captain Marvel is also a possibility.

The report goes on to state that Marvel “is intent on hiring an African-American director for Black Panther and a female filmmaker for Captain Marvel. DuVernay’s hiring would make her Marvel’s first African-American and first female director, which would no doubt double as a public relations boon for the company.”

Ava DuVernay, the director of the acclaimed movie Selma, is reportedly on the radar of Marvel to helm one of its upcoming movies. And the suggestion is that it's Black Panther that's the film she's being earmarked for.

The Wrap has broken the news, and it says that DuVernay is being courted to take one of Marvel's movies on. Whilst Black Panther is being described as "the most likely possibility", it's also suggested that DuVernay may be in the running for Captain Marvel. So we wait and see just which film she ends up attached to, should these conversations ultimately lead somewhere.

'Captain America: Civil War' Photos Reveal Wakanda Set

12 May 2015 2:43 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Last week, production got under way on Captain America: Civil War in Atlanta, with actor Sebastian Stan posting a photo from the set shortly thereafter. Today we have even more images from the Captain America: Civil War set, which tease that the production is using Atlanta for two very different locations, an African village believed to be located in Wakanda, and London, believed to be used for a flashback. We know that Chadwick Boseman will make his Marvel debut as Black Panther in this Phase Three adventure, and while it's not confirmed that this village is set in Wakanda, it's likely a safe bet.

The production also turned a local bar into an old British pub for a scene, with an older London double-decker bus and other vehicles also spotted on the set. A filming notice does confirm the scene takes place in London, but it doesn't mention what time period it's set in. »
