NIKON REPAIR ESTIMATE OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!

So I sent my D3s in for intermittant banding issues and here is what the estimate is :

I HAVE TO LOL!

As a previous repair engineer of various electronics, I can see rather than replace the "faulty part" they are replacing anything that "COULD" be causing the fault.

Ofcourse I was expecting the DG PCB to be replaced as a quick google on various forums shows this to be the root cause of the banding. But the image sensor? this is an intermittant fault that occurs in 30% of images. I definitely disagree the image sensor needs replacing.

Time to ring my insurance and see what they have to say. I only paid £1000 for that camera!
