Which system should I buy into? Fuji vs Sony

I'm getting back into photography after a brief hiatus post high school and am losing my mind over which system I should buy into.

I purchased an a6000 kit along with 2 primes and after many hours of research decided to return it in favor of a more developed/promising eco-system.

I've settled on either a Fuji XT-1 w/18-135mm WR (with plans on upgrading to the XT-2 upon release) or a Sony A7II w/Zeiss 24-70mm. The Sony is rather pricey, but doable budget wise. A7RII is not an option. These would be my starter lenses while in EU for the next couple of months and I would add to the system over time until it is complete.

Here is what's important to me:

Size, the Sony is a tiny bit bigger than the Fuji but I'm not going to lose it over 150g. I don't care about anything going in my pocket, or a M4/3 size camera. I just want something a little smaller than a DSLR.

IQ, the biggest factor. If I'm shelling out a couple thousand dollars on some gear it better be worth it. Going by this the obvious answer right now is the A7II, but the XT-2 is not far off and will match the A7II's 24mp sensor. So now it is just a debate of full frame vs aps-c and bayer vs x-trans.

Auto-focus. Not a huge point since both are not great at the moment, but will undoubtedly improve in the future. Assuming the XT-2 shares the Xpro-2 guts, its not all that impressive. I assume the A7III will be a little more of a show stopper.

Those are my big 3. Low light performance being relatively important as well, not as big of a deal breaker for me though.

I shoot mostly landscapes, portraits, street and my daughter. Maybe the odd shot of my dogs.

I know I'm really speculating on upcoming releases, but I'm all about a system. I want to invest in glass once, so I want the most future proof option.
