"Detachable lens" camera not allowed into Disney Frozen on Ice

Before going to the show at Sleep Train Arena (Sacramento,CA)  last Saturday with our 7yr. old granddaughter, I checked both the Disney "Frozen on Ice" website and the arena website. Both said cameras were allowed for still pictures only, no videos. So into my purse went my GX7 with kit lens attached, and I was looked forward to pics of the show and our granddaughter. Then we got to the security line...as well as announcing no food or beverages or adult backpacks, they said no detachable lens or professional cameras were allowed. Of course bags were searched and in spite of my protests that it was just a small camera, I had to go lock it in the trunk of the car. So I"m writing this partly to vent and also to give a heads up to anyone who might find themselves in a similar situation. It just seems so absurd to me; and had I been forewarned I could have brought my LX5 which certainly would have been better than my phone for pictures.
